Languedoc-Roussillon weather
Languedoc-Roussillon region of France, benefits from a Mediterranean climate of hot summers, mild winters, plentiful sunshine and infrequent rain; but the region boosts over 300 days of sunshine a year. Summer temperatures can go over 30C in the peak months of July and August. The mountainous areas of the Pyrenees and Lozère can be cold and snowy, whilst along the coast weather is much milder.

There are five airports serving the Languedoc-Roussillon region, Nimes (FNI) otherwise known as Garons Airport, is located 12Km South of Nimes and is served by Ryan Air. Montpellier (MPL) the three regular carriers are Air France, British Airways, Ryanair. Carcassonne (CCF) also known as Llabanère Airport, Beziers (BZR) has 3 low-cost carriers, and Perpignan (PGF) is served by Ryan Air.
Things to do
There are so many things to do in the Languedoc including: Winter sports, dog sledding, downhill skiing, cross country skiing and ice skating. Take Le Train Jaune up into the Pyrenees, it departs just outside Perpignan for magnificent scenery, in open-top wagons. Adults and children will also enjoy Sigean an African safari park which is one of the biggest wildlife parks in France. Go to the Limoux carnival fete held over two months in mid winter. It starts in January until two weeks before Easter Sunday.
