Egmond aan Zee has a 12 miles long lovely beach- and dunes coast. It is the ideal place if you like sunbathing on the sandy beach or swimming in the sea. Not far from the village you can do the most beautiful cycle tour of Holland "de brede duinenroute". This tour with a length of 30 miles leads through the artistic village Bergen, over the dike 'de Hondsbossche Zeewering', Groet, Schoorl and Alkmaar. Alkmaar with his famous Cheese Market on Friday an a lot of magificent patrician houses on the canals in the centre. From Egmond aan Zee it is 40 minutes by car too Amsterdam.
