Seillans holiday house in Provence - Provencal vacation house in Var

This delightful house is stone-built and therefore cool in summer. It has 3 bedrooms: 2 doubles, one with adjoining shower room and one with new ensuite bathroom, and the third has 4 full size single beds with a shower cubicle in the room. It is ideal for two families sharing or one large family. The living area is spacious and airy with a high beamed ceiling and is open plan with a modern kitchen set at one end, separated by a raised counter. All work surfaces are granite and there is a large fridge freezer, washing machine, diswasher, dryer, microwave, gas hob and electric oven. There is a separate lavatory off this room. Looking down on the living room is a peaceful mezzanine study. Outside is a large garden with olive and fruit trees and a shaded terrace with built-in BBQ. The sunny pool is 12 x 5 m with a seating area and sun loungers. There is also a table tennis table for the energetic. The house is located at the foot of the pretty medieval "perched" village of Seillans, down a small road with only two other houses so is very quiet. However it is within walking distance of the village which has 3 excellent restaurants, a bar, a tabac, a butcher and baker. Nice airport is one hour's drive and Cannes and other beaches are around 45 mins away. Only 20 minutes away is a large lake (Lac de St Cassien) which has small beaches, pedalos and restaurants around its perimeter. All linen is provided with the exception of pool/beach towels and the house is cleaned before and after your stay.

Seillans has 3 good restaurants; Les Deux Rocs, La Gloire de mon Pere and Le Relais d`Olea, as well as a bar which serves coffee, drinks and sandwiches and is open all day. Close by (5km) is the village of Fayence which has a lot more restaurants and shops and a good market on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday mornings. The Lac de St Cassien is about 20 minutes drive away and has small beaches with pedalos and cafes around its perimeter. There are 3 supermarkets within easy reach. The nearest, 8 a Huit, is in the village and is walkable. It is small but has most basics and very good bread. Super U is in Fayence and Intermarche is near Tourettes, about 10 minutes drive away. For good local wine pay a visit to the Chateau de Selves or the Val d'Iris, both within a few minutes drive.

Rental notes: 10% of the total amount to be paid at the time of booking. The balance to be paid 6 weeks before, either by UK cheque, euro cheque or bank transfer. The deposit is non-refundable.

The living area is large, light and airy with a high beamed ceiling. It is open plan with a modern fully-equipped kitchen at one end and 2 cream leather sofas in front of a woodburning fire and television at the other. There are two large patio doors opening onto the terrace. The three bedrooms all come off this main room - the master bedroom which has a Kingsize bed and en suite bathroom is at the kitchen end of the main room, while the second bedroom, also with a Kingsize bed is at the other end, off a small corridor with its own adjoining shower room, and overlooking the pool. Both these bedrooms have patio doors opening onto the terrace. The third bedroom, which has 4 single beds and a large shower cubicle in the room, is behind the fireplace. A mezzanine study on the first floor has a balcony which looks down on the main room. There is a separate lavatory off the main room and another one off the mezzanine study.

Outside Area:The patio doors from the main room lead onto a south facing terrace which has an electric awning to give much needed shade for a long lazy lunch. Here there is a large black metal dining table with 8 comfortable basket weave chairs. Alongside this there is a covered area where there is a built-in BBQ. At the rear of the house is a large swimming pool (12x5m) with sunbathing area and sun loungers. The sun is on the pool all day. The pool is fenced off securely with child proof gates. Also at the rear there is a covered car port with washing lines and a table tennis table.
