Renovated little stonehouse, called Pajara - originally used for animals, tools or cereals - for 2-3 people at the edge of Gaglano del Capo: 1 bedroom with kitchen and bathroom attached. Cross ceiling and stone-floor. Washbowl and shower also outside. Summerhouse, garden, barbecue and hammock. Natural footpath down to the seaside, reaching the protected bay area called Ponte Ciolo. A 30 minutes walk, passing a ravine, olive- and figtrees, capers and Pajaras – the little stonehouses, characteristic for this region. Situated 60 km in the south of Lecce at the adriatic seaside Gagliano is an authentic and sympathic little town with a good infrastructure and open-air market on saturdays. Opposite Greece. A magic point. Here in this most southern part of Puglia there is sea everywhere... Like all the other historical places of the Salento (province of Lecce) also Gagliano is built of warm tuff, a material which creates a special flair. Fascinating is also the Barocco Leccese, a local baroque stile which culminates in the facades of the churches of Lecce.
