The 19th century farmhouse is set in the quiet hamlet of Le Val. The enclosed gardens provide an excellent opportunity for our younger guests to play safely in a spacious environment. Being next to the tow path on the Nantes-Brest canal affords ideal opportunities for walking, cycling, boating and watching the abundant wildlife including otters.

Josselin is town is built on the banks of the River Oust and was the home of the Dukes of Rohan. The magnificent castle was started by Jean II of Rohan in the late 15th Century. The castle is spectacular to view from the tow path and the gardens. The town with its half timbered buildings is centred around the Basilica of Our Lady of the Brambles whose tower may be climbed giving views over the town and the countryside beyond. Josselin is home to the doll museum. It is also an up and coming place for artists and has many exhibits in the summer months. The Saturday market is very popular in the warmer months and there are plenty of cafes to sit and watch the world go past. Pontivy is made up of two towns wrapped around each other : the medieval old town with its half timbered houses and the geometric Napoleonic town. Twice in its history Pontivy has been know as Napoleonville (the town of Napoleon). The town is situated in a very rural part of Brittany know as the Valley of the Blavet and the River Blavet runs through the town. The Nantes-Brest canal also runs through Pontivy. The town boasts a magnificent 15th Century castle.Shops and cafes line the main street and the small cobbled side streets.Every summer you can discover the chapels of architectural and historical interest round and about Pontivy by following the art trail of L' Art des Chapelles, which have different routes marked by colour.

The house maintains many of its original features including the Breton fireplace, oak beams throughout and stone animal trough. Downstairs is open plan ( 80 sq m). The living area is spacious with ample seating for everyone. It has a TV with DVD and video players plus a mini music centre. A large selection of videos, DVD's, books ( for all ages), and games are provided. The kitchen is well equipped with a gas hob, electric oven, microwave, fridge and separate freezer. The washing machine is located in a separate room in front of the downstairs toilet. Upstairs has wood flooring throughout. The master bedroom has a double bed and an en-suite shower room. There are 3 other bedrooms, another double, 2 twin rooms and the main bathroom.

Outside Area:The garden is accessed through the French windows, which leads onto the patio and bar-b-que area and large lawn. Walk across the lawn, past the swings to your private solar heated pool and sun terrace set in the walls of an old ruin. Next to the pool in a separate room is the mini gym and table-football. Walk past the pool to the canal and tow path. 2 rowboats and children’s lifejackets provided free and a full range of bikes are available for nominal rent.
