Holiday weather in Finland
Finland has generally warm summers and cold winters; during summer temperatures are around 20C in the South, and a little cooler in the north; sometimes 30C is possible; with up to 19 hours of daylight. In the north the sun does not set for 72 days in summer, in winter it does not rise for a 51 days. Winter is cold and in the south between -5C and -10C, in northern Lapland between -15C to -30C.
Airport information
The principle airport in Finland is the Helsinki-Vantaa Airport (HEL) 19km north of the city. The main airlines that fly in and out of Helsinki are Finnair and Scandinavian Airlines. Many major and budget airlines serve Helsinki airport, which makes it possible to fly to most places in the world fairly easily. The other international airports are Turku (TKU), Tampere (TMP) and Rovaniemi (RVN).
