In Romania spring and autumn are cool and pleasant which are the best months to visit. Summers are hot from July to August and winters are harsh and very cold between December and March, with snow falling throughout most of the country. Weather in the mountainous regions can be colder at any time of year. Weather near the coast is milder, there is generally less rainfall throughout the year.

Romania's main airport is Bucharest Henri Coanda International Airport (OTP), which services to the rest of Europe, the Middle East and New York. Budget airlines Easyjet, Wizzair, MyAir, Ryanair, GermanWings and AirBerlin operate flights from nearby Aurel Vlaicu International Airport (BBU), in Baneasa. Cluj-Napoca International Airport is the largest airport in Transylvania.
