Slovenia enjoys a moderate Mediterranean-like climate, with hot dry summers; although the Alpine regions have severe winters, especially in the eastern part of the country with plenty of snow in the mountains. The north remains warm and dry during the summer, offering ideal conditions for walking and hiking. Temperatures in summer range from 22 to 27C during the day and around 15C at night.

Adria Airways is the national carrier of Slovenia, based at Ljubljana Airport (LJU) it flies to most major European cities and various Balkan destinations. The cheapest ways into the city is with EasyJet's daily flight from London-Stansted. About 20 other airlines have direct flights to Ljubljana as well.
