About Wisconsin
Wisconsin, which borders Great Lakes Superior and Michigan, offers visitors some of the most picturesque landscapes in the Midwest. Wisconsin has heaps to offer: exploring the craggy cliffs and lighthouses of Door County, kayaking through sea caves at Apostle Islands National Lakeshore, mountain biking in Chequamegon National Forest and soaking up beer, art and festivals in Milwaukee. Wisconsin is famed for its hospitality and friendly atmosphere and is known as the beer capital of the nation.
Weather in Wisconsin
Wisconsin's climate is typically continental, with four distinct seasons. Summers are warm with cool nights. Winters are cold and snowy, especially around the Great Lakes. In the north, lakes and streams may be covered with ice from November to April. These conditions, however, are precisely why Wisconsin is so popular among winter sports enthusiasts.
