Samoens holiday chalet rental - Rhone-alpes ski chalet in Samoens ski resort

La Source is a unique ski and alpine holiday venue, open all year round. It is on the sunny side of the mountain, 5 minutes from Samoens village and the Grand Massif ski area (264km of piste). We can host up to 12-14 people all year round or you can rent the chalet. In the winter, from mid December to mid-April, La Source is an eco ski chalet where individuals or groups can feel re-sourced by a week in the mountains. Our ski holidays include yoga, wood fired hot tubs and adventures into the back-country. In the summer (mid-April to the end of November) we run courses, retreats and holidays that mix adventure sport with yoga and well being. It is the atmosphere at La Source that draws people back again and again. La Source is nothing like a hotel, nor your average ski chalet. It has a unique and alternative flavour that you’ll just have to come and experience for yourself! La Source is available for rent for a reunion of family or friends. You can take it entirely self-catered or we can provide meals on-demand. The house is fully equipped with everything you will need so all you need to bring are your clothes and toiletries! There are no hidden surprises.

Samoens is awesome! It is the only ski resort in France listed as a ‘cultural and historic market village’. It has everything one could ask for; theatre, shops, cinema, a botanic garden, locals all year round, bustling market, restaurants & bars but even more exciting are; the vast skiing area - the third largest in Europe with 264kms of piste, an open air swimming pool, lakes, parks, a class 3/4 river, high ropes course and exquisite beauty. La Source is 5 minutes (25 minutes on foot) from the village up on the sunny side of the valley. We are in a rural hamlet with a working subsistence farm next door. The cows come through our garden in the summer. Moo. You walk down our cow path, cross the stream and are into an endless network of Grand Routes (famous hiking trails), to the largest Nature Reserve in the Hautes Savoie where Mont Blanc gleams at you.

Featured in many a design magazine, La Source is an eco-renovated 1865 hay barn. It has an open plan living area with folding sliding doors that open to a balcony with stunning South facing views. The original beams are exposed and off set the white walls, floor to ceiling windows, designer and antique furniture, oak floor, contemporary art and African wall hangings. La Source is an ecologically sound, low energy and sustainable lodge. Massive open plan living, dining and kitchen area, ethnic chill out den, library, separate sports storage and drying room and everything you might want or expect in a modern home including mini climbing wall and hammock.
