Built in the Sixties, Lory Villa has been recently restored into a charming country house, according to modern standards of green building and technology with the use of ecological materials. It is located in the beautiful country side around Lucca in Tuscany. The location is spectacular, with stunning views of the surroundings, is the ideal place to spend a holiday in total peace and relaxation. The Portico is a separate apartment on the ground floor and offers all the amenities: air conditioning, satellite TV, Wi-Fi. It has a private entrance, a large private garden and a separate salt water pool with two showers and furniture and a private parking area. It has a fitness room with whirlpool, sauna, Turkish bath, shower and a fully equipped gym. The Portico is an ideal base for visiting some of the cities of Tuscany. The owners are very friendly and welcome their guests with seasonal produce.

SEGROMIGNO IN MONTE It is a small village on the hills near Lucca : It was already in existence during the Roman Empire as the name shows – Segromigno - Sub Gromineo- that was at the foot of the hill "Gromineo", now "The Pizzorne". Visitors from both home and abroad find in the unique panorama a fascinating world to wich the villas, the churches, the olive groves and the vineyards are witness. They revive the influences of the past when they contact the still existing traditions, habits, legends and rites of an ancient rural civilization. The Parish Church : The Pieve of S. Lorenzo was built in 872 having three naves. It has the lower part of the facade characterized by an archivolt over the entrance and the upper part adorned with series of arches. Inside the church are worth seeing : the holy water stoup, the marble tabernacle of the Pietà ( Baccio da Montelupo1519), the baptismal font(17th C.), a Roman column, the marble pulpit (17th C.) and the history of S. Lorenzo frescoes applied on the side walls by L. Ademollo (19th C.).
