Island of Favignana family holiday villa - Favignana vacation villa near Sicliy

The Villa dei Colori that houses Blue House and Red House is located conveniently, just in the middle of the island of favignana, immediately behind the town. All shops and eateries are within walking distance in less than 5 min and also the harbour of Favignana is at 10-15 min. If you travel with a trolley you can get easily to the Villa without motorized vehicles. Is superior to furnish both the interior and exterior with comfortable areas for relaxation that await the return of a busy day at the beach. The external areas of the two houses are totally independent but both benefit from extensive green spaces. Palm, olive and lemon trees can have a glass of wine comfortably cool in the shade. The garden of the Blue House, located in the Northeast, is characterized by the presence of a group of 4 beautiful Cocus. But at night the garden both gardens are accessible through a lighting effect particularly well. The south coast, always sheltered when the mistral blows, is about 10 min by feet. Taking a walk from Cala Monaci along the sea to the east you can arrive to Lido Burrone beach. When sirocco is blowing we suggest you to go to the Plaia Beach, which is located about 500 m north, close to the Tuna Florio. But the island of Favignana fully enjoy cycling! With little expense you can rent bicycles or scooters (for the less fit) and join in less than 20 minutes any beach on the island. Our favorites are Cala Rotonda on West, Cala Azzurra on South-East and Cala Rossa in North East, Plaia beach in North. The two most famous coves of Favignana have inspired the name and colors of two independent apartments places respectively on the ground floor and first floor of the villa. Each house has a private entrance and garden but the two houses can be pooled when leased single block.

The island of Favignana forms, along with smaller Marettimo and Levanzo, Egadi archipelago. It takes its name from the the Zephyr, a wind which makes its mild climate even in the sultry summer. Recognizable for its unique butterfly shape with outstretched wings, it is strategically located in the heart of the Mediterranean which puts it at the center of great legends. In the Odyssey (Book IX), Homer's Odysseus landed on the island of goats (Aegades) and describes the island's natural character with such clarity that the similarity to the island can now perfect. It is believed that the first inhabitants of Sicily were the Phoenicians (sailors) and Lestrigons (farmers) come from Epirus by sea. The island has always been a strategic base of undisputed value for the people that were vying for dominance of the sea. The first human settlements in Favignana go back to Upper Paleolithic (10,000 BC) as shown by numerous finds of the caves near the cliff and cave pit near St. Nicholas, which probably was for centuries the island's harbor. The human being made his appearance in Egadi in Upper Palaeolithic, as evidenced by archeological finds and the graffiti in the caves of the islands. In 1874 Vincenzo Florio took possession of the islands and their seas Egadi gaining on the Marquis Pallavicini Rusconi. With this purchase had only the bare ownership of them and traps, excluding state-owned land and castles, having been abolished feudal rights and the first investiture allowed.

On the ground floor of Villa dei Colori there is the Red House apartment, you enter the living area from the garden. The sleeping area consists of a first bedroom with king-size bed and a bedroom with twin beds side by side. Another bed can be obtained by a puff. The cabinets reflect the colors of the Red House, 2 bathrooms each furnished with taste and sympathy. The kitchen and the living room are an unique space. The Blue House spread to the upper floor of the building, you enter the living area from the staircase communicating with the garden on the east side. The living area houses the dining area and a spacious kitchen. A large terrace on the north side let you dine outside. The sleeping area consists of a king-size bedroom with a large outdoor terrace with a view of Mount Catherine, and a two single beds room. The hot water is generated by ecological solar panels. Although the Villa is equipped with a latest generation summer-winter air conditioning system its use is necessary sporadically due to the presence of a thermal coat that keeps the environment fresh.

The South and West side is attributable to the Red House with an area where elevated to allow a relaxing view to the sea. Palm, olive and lemon trees can have a glass of wine comfortably cool in the shade. The garden of the Blue House, located in the Northeast, is characterized by the presence of a group of 4 beautiful Cocus over olive tree which houses immediately after the entrance. But at night the garden both gardens are accessible through a lighting effect particularly well. But despite being close to the country is well on by both houses.
