Cognac holiday cottage rental - French self catering Poitou-charentes cottage

Maison Poirier is a charming 18th century cottage set in 1 1/2 acres, nestled in the heart of the Cognac producing region. The cottage comfortably sleeps 8 in it’s 3 spacious bedrooms (1 double and 1 twin on the ground floor and 1 double and twin combined on the first floor). There is a large well equipped kitchen/dining room (which opens to the courtyard with French doors) and a spacious lounge for relaxing. There is a shower room and wc on the ground floor (ideal for those who find stairs a problem) and a further en-suite shower room on the first floor. Outside there is a secluded courtyard with a dining area, bbq facilities and covered parking. Guests can also enjoy the mature gardens, beautiful stone summerhouse, or simply sunbathe around the pool and relax with a glass of wine.

The cottage in situated in a rural hamlet surrounded by the Cognac vineyards. The nearest village of Migron (2 km) has a small grocers, butchers and bakers and is easily accessible by car or by our montain bikes. There are several supermarkets in the nearby town of Matha along with restaurants, chemist, doctors and market.

Rental notes: Additional pricing information There is an additional £100 per week payable for 7 or 8 sharing. Periods of less than a week are pro-rata. A discount of 25% applies for couples in May June, September and October 2009 Available for long-term winter lets, price on application.

Lounge - Satellite TV and video, CD player. Kitchen - Oven and hob, dishwasher, washing machine, fridge/freezer, microwave, kettle, toaster, ironing facilities. The cottage also benefits from central heating and 2 wood-burning stoves for out of season bookings. There are also videos, books and games provided. For families with babies we can offer high chairs, buggy, stair-gates, cots, fireguard, baby bath, potty, etc. All bed linen is supplied and pool towels are available on request. Out of courtesy, we ask guests to refrain from smoking within the cottage.

Outside Area:External facilities: Large sunny garden, Shaded rear courtyard for dining and bbq's. An enclosed 10m x 5m swimming pool (with sunbeds, parasols and inflatable toys). Stone Summerhouse overlooking the pool for shaded dining in the day and evening bbq’s (with CD player, fridge, bbq, dining tables, chairs and sofas). Variety of bikes, helmets and baby seats. Games room with pool table, table tennis, table football and darts. Games pitch for badminton, football, croquet and boules. Children's facilities include - wooden playhouse, sandpit, ride on toys and garden games
