Nectar Cottage is self-catering accommodation situated in the only village that lies inside a South African National Park: Nature's Valley on the Garden Route. The Tsitsikamma National Park surrounds Nature's Valley with a pristine beach, a beautiful lagoon and the indigenous Tsitsikamma forest. Expect to see Southern Cape Bushbuck, Bushpigs and an array of wild birds pass through the garden of Nectar Cottage. Nature's Valley is a safe area for tourism. To be able to appreciate the abundance of activities in the area, a car is recommended. However, if you simply wish to absorb the beauty and tranquility of nature by walking, swimming and enjoying the spectacular beach and rocks, there are shuttle services available from Cape Town to Nature's Valley.

Nectar Cottage is located in the heart of nature in the Tsitsikamma Forest, just 75 metres from the beach and 1800 metres from the Groot River lagoon. This self-catering house is fully equipped and is a convenient 200 metres from the village shop and restaurant. Arguably the most beautiful part of the Garden Route in South Africa, Nature's Valley is unique in that it lies nestled in the Tsitsikamma National Park coastal forest - the only residential area within a South African National Park. Southern Cape Bushbuck, Bushpigs, and wild birds can frequently be seen in the gardens of Nature's Valley village. To the south of Nature's Valley is the Indian Ocean, east the Groot River lagoon, and north and west the Tsitsikamma Forest. The majestic Tsitsikamma, Kouga, Kammanassie and Groot Swart mountain ranges flank this coastal area. Nature's Valley is 37 Kilometres east of Plettenberg Bay and 45 kilometres west of Storms River Mouth, just off the picturesque R102 and is quite accessible. The closest airports to Nature's Valley are Plettenberg Bay (37 km), George (120 km), and Port Elizabeth (200 km). Immersed in nature, away from the din of daily life in the cities and towns, Nature's Valley still boasts a good restaurant and a well-stocked shop. A renowned local baker provides delicious carrot cake, milktarts and an array of sweet and savoury foods that can be collected or delivered (see Food for contact information).

Rental notes: Prices are converted from African Rand into American dollars and should be confirmed before booking. Deposit reverts to a breakage deposit which is refunded within 30 days of departure. Well-behaved dogs are welcome at Nectar. Do note however that as Nectar is located in a South African National Park there is zero tolerance for dogs that chase wildlife. We charge an extra one-off payment per dog to cover the extra cleaning costs on departure.

Spacious sitting/dining room with 2 extra sofa beds has fireplace. Hot-water bottles, and blankets for winter evenings are also available to keep you warm. Lots of games, sports equipment, books and music. Fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher. Cleaning service available on request.
