Guests share a delicious breakfast with warm and friendly company and conversation in the main house. We serve freshly ground coffee, garden fresh peppermint tea, homemade sourdough breads and berry jams, smoked salmon, waffles with local blueberries, fresh fruit salads, omelet with homegrown eggs and fresh chives, "Rösti"(swiss hash browns) and swiss Müesli. Special requests honored with advance notice. We welcome children, and offer several acres of outdoor space to explore and to visit with our outdoor cats, chickens and turkeys. Often moose wander by. Your hosts are Brigitte, born in Germany, and her husband Willie, originally Swiss. They've lived in Alaska for quite a while and built this home from scratch. Both love to create furniture, gardens, food and smiles. ** Brigitte's garden was featured in Sunset Magazine and the B&B won a beautification award.

Homer; where the road ends and the sea begins. The town is one hundred years old, small enough to walk all over with many trails to hike above and along the miles of shoreline. Fine galleries, eateries, and local entertainment [music or theater etc.], also fishing for salmon, halibut, and other species from shore or with charter boats or along the rivers. Across the bay there is Seldovia, a native community, nice and picturesque or Halibut Cove, an art community with many boardwalks; visit galleries or have lunch/dinner with a friend at the Saltry, a fine restaurant.Golfing, riding, swimming, bicycle riding and many other activities are available in Homer - also kayaking across Kachemak Bay and daytrips with a watertaxi.

Rental notes: 2010 rates: Single/double occupancy $155/per night, extra person $35. Two guests, 2 beds $175.00 - minimum stay 2 days. Single day rate $175.00. To guarantee your reservation, a 50% deposit is required, balance due at check-in. All cancellations are subject to a $50.00 cancellation fee. If you cancel less than 30 days prior to reservation, you will forfeit deposit. No refund for early departure. We have a 3% sales tax. Payment may be in cash, personal checks, traveler's checks or with PayPal.

The rooms are decorated with furniture designed and crafted by the owners, and stocked with a wide selection of Alaskana literature and an extra-ordinary collection of Alaskan fossils and other natural-found objects. Heather in room, controlled by guests to their comfort level.

Outside Area:Gardens to explore, hiking up the hill and around the property. Sitting around the fire pit or relax on the porch in front of the room.
