Kyle of Lochalsh holiday cottage in Scotland - Scotland self catering cottage

Situated at the head of the awesome Glenshiel in the shadow of the Five Sisters of Kintail, Woodlands is a spacious and extremely comfortabe, sef-catering, large holiday cottage. With 21 Munros in its vicinity (the Five Sisters and Saddle being accessed directly from the house!) four bath/shower rooms and comfortable furniture, it is perfect for hillwalkers and ramblers. It is also ideal for families with children. With pool and basketball on offer plus many board games, children love the house and what it has to offer (happy, occupied children = happy parents!) Of course, many adults enjoy these pastimes too. For those wishing to tour by car or by motorbike it is extremely well-located for touring most of the Highlands and Islands. Finally, Woodlands' atmosphere, size and layout is great for large get-togethers.

Views:The views from the three front bedrooms, lounge, kitchen are of the breathtaking surroundings.

Floor Area:185 sq meters

Within a few minutes walk there are mountains (a few seconds actually) a river (again a few seconds) Loch Duich (less than three minutes), horse riding, llama trekking (again less than five minutes), a bar and restaurant (ten minutes) and a shop. A short drive away there is boat hire and rod hire. Ten minutes away is the famous Eilean Donan Castle reputed to be the most photographed castle is Scotland and used in many films including Highlander, Rob Roy and Braveheart. There are many other things slightly further afield but still within an easy drive. Golden eagles, pine martens, seals, poropoises, otters, wild goats and red deer have all been spotted in the vicinity. There was even a whale in Loch Duich once!

Rental notes: Short stays of up to 4 nights are available November, December and January. At other times of the year last minute short stays will be available. Special rates for Easter, Spring Bank Holiday, Christmas and New Year.

Woodlands is warm, comfortable and very, very spacious yet manages to feel cosy. It has been furnished with quality furniture. The lounge seats 12 comfortably and contains lots of boardgames and jigsaws plus a large coffee table on which to play them. The kitchen houses the twelve-seater dining table and is always a great hit with guests. Two of the bedrooms are en-suite, one has a shower room next door and the remaining two each have a wash stand.

Outside Area:The house is situated in half an acre, a quarter of which rises steeply behind the house and is covered in woodland which blends with the woodland up the mountain (easily accessed from the house). There is a basic timber outbuilding which houses a pool table and a dartboard. There is also a basket ball hoop.
