New England vacation Westport stone house - Connecticut vacation rental home

Located on a quiet cul de sac, this charming, comfortable, beautifully furnished, vintage stone house is set on over an acre of lawns, gardens and mature trees. 2200 sq. ft, 3 bedrooms, 2 baths, large living room with fireplace, piano, seating for 8-10, the dining room is glass on 3 sides with a stone wall as the fourth - you'll feel like you are dining in the forest. House has central air, wifi, 3 TVs with all channels. The large, sunny kitchen has a dining area that looks out to the front terrace, which is surrounded by flowering stone walls and trees. The master is on the first floor, with a full bath and a den/office adjacent. Two other bedrooms and a full bath are upstairs, one with queen bed and the other with day bed that opens to 2 twins (crib available for this room). The house is perfect for a couple or a small family, with sleeping for six, plus a baby. Please note that the house is not child proofed. We have two cars that are available for rental by our tenants, with proper insurance coverage. Car 1 is a 1986 classic Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio, red convertible, standard shift. Westport is a beautiful town located on Long Island Sound, with fabulous recreational amenities; 3 GORGEOUS BEACHES, A TOWN COUNTRY CLUB WITH RESTAURANT, GOLF, TENNIS, SAILING SCHOOL, SWIMMING POOLS AND AN ICE SKATING RINK FOR THE WINTER. The area offers the best of all possible worlds: you're at the beach, in the country and only one hour from New York City by car or train. The Autumn leaves here are of legendary beauty, and the winter snowfalls create the feeling of a Currier and Ives print. The Leavitt Pavillion has free concerts every night of the summer, The Westport Country Playhouse is famous for their year round live theater. The Westport Art Center has ongoing exhibits of local artists work, and there are wonderful museums in Greenwich at the Bruce, 25 minutes drive, in New Haven at Yale University, 30 minutes drive, and of course, all the museums and cultural activities one hour away in New York. Westport is a town of art galleries, restaurants, antique shops, farmers' markets, organic supermarkets, and athletic facilities. There are spas galore and gyms to work out in, and unending cultural and sportive activities all year round, and great shopping. A 90 minute drive will take you to the Mystic Seaport and Aquarium, the casinos, and 15 minutes to the Maritime Center and the restaurant row of South Norwalk (SONO). Everywhere you look, there is something beautiful to see, in all four seasons.

Rental notes: Our home is also available for a one year rental beginning in April, May or June 2012. Contact us for rates. The cost for you to rent for the whole summer is $32,000 The rental for either of our cars is $500 per month, with proof of your insurance. Utilities will be billed separately and deducted from the security deposit, unless you are renting for a period of three months or longer, in which case the utilities will be billed directly to you from the utility companies. Payment in full for the rental period is due two weeks prior to occupancy by check in U.S. currency or certified check, or by Paypal. We have a cleaning lady who comes in every 2nd Friday to clean for the sum of $100 per visit. Check with us for periods other than those listed.

The house is a fieldstone two story cape cod style with hardwood floors throughout. It faces south so it is always bright, and every room has windows on at least two sides making for terrific cross ventilation. There are three bedrooms, and two full baths. The house has central air conditioning, WIFI, 3TVs with all channels, and is the home of a French/American couple who are interior designers. So, the house is beautifully furnished with comfy sofas and chairs, gorgeous 18th Century Country French antique cupboards and armoires, and oil paintings adorn the walls. The house is charming and feels more like a European home. The first floor consists of a very large living room with fireplace, piano, game table, music collection and comfortable seating for 8-10. The dining room is glass on three sides with the fourth wall in stone. So, you feel like you are eating outside in the forest. This room has a separate heating zone, so you can be toasty warm while dining even in the winter. The kitchen is large and bright with the eating area before a wall of glass facing the front terrace, surrounded by flowering stone walls. The master bedroom is located on the first floor with a full bath and a den/office adjacent to it. The bedroom has an adjustable queen bed and an HDTV. The den/office has a desk with internet modem, TV, sofa and chairs, a copy machine, FAX. scanner and printer, and a library of interesting books. Upstairs are two bedrooms and a full bath and a desk space in the hallway. One bedroom has a queen size bed, TV and treadmill. The other bedroom has an iron daybed that opens to two twin beds, and an optional crib. The laundry room is in the basement: washer & dryer. This is a perfect house for a couple or a small family.

Outside Area:This home is located on a beautiful, winding, quiet cul de sac, on one of the most sought after streets in Westport, located on over an acre of lawns, gardens, mature trees and woods. There are two stone patios, one in front and one in the backyard. The front patio has flowering stone walls, a table and chairs, gas grill and a heating lamp for cool evenings. The patios are tree shaded. The property is bordered with flowering trees, and there are gardens in several places. There are window boxes with flowers three seasons of the year, and when the snow falls in the woods, it is a beautiful sight to see. The front lawn is very large and is a great place for playing family games. There is a driveway where you can park your cars. The back yard is private and shady, with patio and forest behind. We have two cars that we can place at your disposition if you would like to rent them: One is an Alfa Romeo, convertible 1986 red Quadrifoglio, seats two. The other is a 2000 black Cadillac Escalade, seats five.
