Built in 1608, Lou Rassado is a large, rambling village house, full of nooks and crannies and crooked stone steps that has been fully restored in keeping with the style of this part of Southern France. Over the years it has been at various times, the village bakery, a farmhouse and a vineyard owner's house and is now the home of a painter and a theatre set designer.
The house is ideally placed to explore this lovely region and enjoy all it has to offer, from the food and wine to local festivals, to cycling and golf. It is also a peaceful haven in which to simply relax by the pool with a good book and feel the sun on your face.

Location of this Self catering home in Provence.
Uzès is a delightful old town that from a distance looks Tuscan with its three medieval towers against the skyline. The Ducal palace there has a fine Renaissance facade, but the real charm about Uzès are the old streets and the sleepy main square and fountain, lined with arcaded houses. The Saturday morning market is very popular and people come from miles around to shop and meet friends. The town also has a golf course, tennis courts, a swimming pool and riding stables.
Saint Quentin La Poterie has a choice of shops including a small supermarket, several boulangeries, a good butcher and a press that carries a range of European papers. Market day is every Friday morning where you can buy gleaming fresh local fruit and vegetables, cheeses and charcuterie, olives or flowers and sometimes fabrics and basketware. This is a village of potters, who make a range of imaginative pottery that is essential Provence. There is usually an exhibition of their work and you can visit their studios and watch them at work (bring an extra bag!).
There are several canoe kayak bases on the Le Gardon and La Cèze rivers and rafting on the Ardèche river an hour away. There are several golf courses within a reasonable drive and two bicycles are available at the house. Others can easily be hired.
A day out will take you to Avignon, its shops and the amazing Popes Palace or the huge two week Music and Theatre Festival in July, perhaps via the 2000 year old Pont du Gard. Or to Nîmes and Orange.

Accommodation for Holiday house in Languedoc Roussillon in France.
The main living room on the ground floor has a very high ceiling and a large fireplace that works perfectly, a sofa and various chairs. Stairs lead up to a small mezzanine area with a library and a hi-fi system, and then to the master bedroom with en suite bathroom.
The kitchen is typically country provencal in style and completely equipped, which includes a large fridge, dishwasher, an oven and hob and microwave. There is also a laundry room with a washing machine and dryer and ironing facilities. The dining room is decorated in a provencal Italian style with a table that can seat eight to ten people. A hallway leads to a guest wc with washbasin, then to a small television room with DVD, and to a large sitting room known as the Moroccan room, or Summer sitting room, also an artist's studio, and out onto the terrace.
A small staircase leads up from the dining room to the Blue bedroom. This room has a double bed, a writing table, chest of drawers and a wardrobe and shares a bathroom with bath with the Yellow room, a double bedroom that also opens onto a small mezzanine above the Moroccan room. The fourth bedroom is an independent studio, next to the old wines caves, accessed from the garden, which has a small sitting room, a vaulted shower room and a mezzanine bedroom.
The dining room, the kitchen and the television room all open onto the terrace, which overlooks the garden. It is equipped with garden furniture and shaded by a vine that produces delicious muscat grapes in season. Ideal for a drink before dinner or a nightcap in the warm scented air before bed.
Outside Area:The garden is small but prettily planted with many different varieties of plants, trees and flowers. A huge wisteria forms a lovely canopy for lunch in the shade, or an afternoon siesta in the hammock. Another terrace is a pleasant spot for breakfast or a barbecue in the evening. The pool is new, surrounded by teak decking and fitted with a counter-current swimming system and a Jacuzzi. Its is fully secured by a certified cover security system.
