Le Grand Biolay in Romenay, a seventeenth century Holiday House of 230 sq meters on two levels, is situated in its own meadow, about 30 km northeast of Mâcon in the southern part of the Burgundy region. The beginning of the road to the Vineyards of Burgundy. Lot of historical places are nearby. Ideal opportunity for a get away from it all holiday. The house is situated in a quiet location with peaceful countryside views. It is entirely surrounded by a garden. There is so much to see and do in this area.

There are some charming sights such as the city of Mâcon and Roche Solutré, situated in the middle of the vineyards 10 km west of the city. In Roche Solutré there is a footpath to the top of the rock from where there is a great view over the surrounding area. The undulating landscape of the Beaujolais vineyards is also worth visiting. 40 km west of Romenay is the beautiful old town of Cluny, with its medieval abbey. For wine lovers, wine tasting can be found throughout the region, primarily to the north in Burgundy and the Côte Chalonnaise and to the west and south in the Côte Mâconnaise and Beaujolais. There is so much to see and do in this historic area. The cities of Cluny, Macon, Chalon, Beaune, Dijon abound in history. Purchase Paris visit tickets which give you unlimited travel on busses and trains throughout Paris. Alternatively you can drive there as it is only 150 miles (250km) up the A6 Autoroute. For a local market (Monday mornings), shops, post office, bars and restaurants. Louhans is just 10 minutes drive away. Getting here from Calais is only 6 hours driving time.

Rental notes: The above rates are for a family of four occupying two bedrooms. Included in the Rental: Water, gas, electricity, wood for chimneys and pizza-oven. Not included: Tourist Tax, central heating costs (150 Euros per week during winter months). Weekend rates From Friday to Sunday 750 Euros (out of season only). Ground floor: Comfortable and bright lounge with satellite T.V. is heated by wood burning stoves for cooler weather. Bedroom Nr. 1 has double bed. Bedroom Nr.2 has bunk bed. Bathroom has a shower, bath, 2 washbasins, toilet. Floor: 2 bedrooms with double beds and shared bathroom with shower, toilet. The centrally heated apartment offers a fully equipped kitchen with everything you need. For the occasional use during the summer, there is an electric heater available.
