Prato Grande's farmhouse family centre is located in the small village of Roncastaldo which belongs to the municipality of Loiano in the province of Bologna. It is situated on the ridge of the Appennini mountains close to the border of the Tuscany region. This farmhouse family centre immersed in the beautiful countryside puts you in touch with nature and a non-stressful ambience but is also not far from important city centres, making it a suitable place for singles, couples and families with children. This site was once home to a farmhouse, stable and hayloft dating back to the 18th century. Today this majestic stone farmhouse stands proud with its eight apartments decorated in rustic style thereby preserving its characteristics with its wooden beams and floors done in terracotta tiles. Every apartment has its own entrance and consists of a living room with a corner kitchen. There are single and double rooms, bathrooms with shower and bidet. Two of these apartments can sleep up to six persons. There is also one apartment suitable for wheelchair bound individuals. You can also play golf, go horseriding, cycling or trekking just a few kilometres from here. Loiano's centre is about 2.96 kilometres from the village of Roncastaldo. There is a cinema and there is also a small hospital which provides emergency room services. You can explore Loiano and its surroundings by visiting Bibele mountain, Martina park, Oggioli mountain, the Observatory of Loiano, the watermills of the Savena river. You can visit the Flaminia Minor old roman road and about twenty kilometres away you can visit the Fantini museum in Monterenzio.

The main feature of the property is its contact with nature in a non-stressful ambience not contaminated by industrial pollution and overcrowding. The views of hills and valleys have a relaxing effect along with the unforgettable sunsets. Located at the border between Emilia and Tuscany regions the location allows as a starting point for visits to the main artistic locations of the areas north of Florence and south of Bologna. The weather is mild in the summer given the altitude of the location (598 metres above sea level). Nearby remnants can be visited of the ancient Celtic and Etruscan communities (Monte Bibele archaeological site and Fantini Museum in Monterenzio)

Rental notes: Balance to be paid upon arrival: Rate referred to a 7-day period stay. There are two bigger apartments and they go for 480 euros a week. Apartments can be rented for short or longer periods of time.
