South Turkey holiday rental cottages

The Forge is truly an upside down house! The house is situated just below the Granary and was bought in 1995. Because the lower part of the house was hewn out of the rock and faces due west, it was decided to build the sitting room upstairs. The sitting room is accessed in two ways from the walled garden. You can climb the outside staircase, past the plunge pool, to the wooden balcony, faced with carved timbers in the local style. From the balcony you enter the sitting room through French doors. The kitchen and bathroom lead off the sitting room. The other way up to the sitting room is through the ground floor, double bedroom. As with the balcony, you enter the bedroom from the garden through French doors at ground level. You then climb the traditional stone staircase up into the sitting room. The garden is, like the other cottages, surrounded by a high wall and is totally secluded. Next to the pergola, built into one corner of the garden wall, is a traditional Turkish fireplace, with bench seats attached. As with the Granary garden, a barbeque unit is built into the fireplace. Accessed by stone steps leading to the balcony in the eastern corner of the garden, is a small plunge pool, ideal for just cooling off in. The balcony faces west and is perfect for sitting and chatting, watching the wonderful sunsets over the hills looking towards the sea at Gemiler Bay, four kilometers away. The Forge has become a favorite holiday cottage for honeymooners over the years.

Sakli Vadi cottages are located in the farming village of Kinali, in the picturesque Kaya Valley, on a peninsular between the towns of Fethiye and Oludeniz. The peninsular is on the Mediterranean Sea coast of Turkey. The cottages are just over an hour’s drive from our local international airport at Dalaman. The Kaya Valley is situated east of the town of Fethiye on Turkey’s Turquoise Coastline and about 900 feet above sea level. The area in ancient times was part of the Kingdom of Lycia. Passing through Kinali Village at the far western edge of the valley, the road winds down to the coast at Gemiler Bay. This delightful pebble beach is safe for swimming and there are a number of restaurants on the beach which sell local delicacies and drinks.

Rental notes: We request a 50% down payment from all our clients to confirm and secure their bookings. Payment of the balance is required one month prior to clients arriving for their holiday, please. Once down payments and balances are paid, both are non refundable. The reason for this is that once a deposit is paid, all other bookings for the cottage for the same period will be declined. Thank you for your understanding. The Forge has a small private plunge pool in the garden, ideal for cooling off in the summer. One of the other cottages has a washing machine that is available for the use of our guests. Each cottage has an ironing board, steam iron and hair dryer. The kitchen is equipped with a small fridge, a four burner gas/electric hob, a microwave oven, cutlery, glassware, pots, pans and crockery, more than sufficient for two guests. Please note that the stereo system is available on request and is for iPods and MP3 players, not CD's.

Outside Area:Each of the Sakli Vadi cottages has been lovingly restored as close as possible to its original design but with all mod cons and fittings expected of a modern property. Sakli Vadi is a TV and internet free zone !
