Built on the site of a Knights Templar estate, our hilltop farmhouse gite offers beauty, history and character, combined with all modern conveniences to ensure a comfortable and memorable stay and is sure to enchant you. The views are spectacular: wooded foothills luring you towards the awesome pyreneean mountains in one direction and a long-range valley-vista in another, from which you can experience the famous beautiful sunsets and expanse of sky with its majestic wheeling birds.

The Gite du Paradis is situated in the Hautes Pyrénées, close to the Gers, Pyrenées Atlantiques and Haute Garonne, in the beautiful village of Vieuzos. Nearby towns are Castelnau Magnoac (15 mins) with banks, Post Office, chemist, supermarket and restaurant and Lannemezan (20-25 mins) with Tourist Office, banks, supermarkets, shops and Wednesday market. Just in the next village is a restaurant serving traditional dishes as well as a variety of tasty pizzas, well worth a visit. Pack up a picnic, or find a mountain restaurant for your midday stop whilst walking in the stunning Pyrenees... the views are breathtaking and the walk totally exhilarating! Take a ramble on the famous GR10 or GR11 trails stretching from the Atlantic to the Mediterranean! With cycling being France's favourite pastime, it's great to see the Tour de France pass through the Pyrenees each July... but whether you'd like to tackle the cols or pedal around the beautiful foothills, it's all there to be enjoyed! A host of ski resorts provide an ample playground for the beginner to the seasoned skier from St Lary, La Mongie, Bagnere de Luchon and Peyragudes all within an hour of the Gite du Paradis. In addition, ski du fond (cross country skiing) and snowshoeing are also widely available here. After a hard day on the slopes, you can check out our famous spas at Aquensis, Bagnere de Bigorre or Balnea, Loudenvielle near Peyragudes.

Rental notes: Rates are per week for 2 people. Easter 2-week holiday: 420 GBP 15 GBP per week for each extra person. 3-course Welcome Meal, if required, 15 euros/person, excluding drinks at 1.50 euros each. Heating is by electric heaters with a 4 GBP per day surcharge between 1 Nov - 1 Mar.

Your gite consists of: a generous lounge with sofa which opens into a double bed, TV with English channels, armchairs, side tables, lamps and a writing bureau for indoor evening relaxation. a large, light and well-equipped kitchen with both a dining table and sofa. From the kitchen stairs take you to a landing, from which lead 2 spacious double bedrooms, each with a sleeping and sitting area and with its own ensuite shower room. Each bedroom has a TV for viewing DVDs (and French channels for the linguists among you!). Bring your own DVDs or sample the wide selection provided. - All bed linen, towels and bathrobes are provided for you.
