We would like to welcome you to our delightful cosy chalet, “Chalet Alpine”. Situated in Stadl an der Mur a beautiful area with fantastic scenery. This area offers something for everyone whether you wish for a peaceful relaxing holiday, gentle walks, museums castles and gentle cycle rides or for the sports enthusiasts skiing, snowboarding, strenuous walks, mountain bike rides, white water rafting and much much, more. Built by Local Crafts men in the traditional Austrian style it is on a small development of approximately 50 other chalets. Stadl an der Mur lies on the borders of the provinces of Salzburg, Styria and Carinthia. The region is primarily known for its many lakes as well as the majestic Hohe Tauern mountain range. With skiing between 1700 and 2200 m it boasts some of Austria’s most snow sure skiing yet also benefits from over 200 days sunshine a year making it a truly dual season resort. The village of Stadl has several shops including two supermarkets, butchers, chemists, bakers, a couple of hotels/restaurants and a petrol station. In the centre of the village is a bathing lake fed by a natural spring for bathing in the summer months and becoming an ice skating rink in winter. There is also a football pitch, tennis courts, volleyball court and a well equipped children’s play area. The nearby towns of Murau and Tamsweg both have larger supermarkets which are easily found for food shopping. The lovely village of Stadl is conveniently positioned between the two ski areas of Kreischberg and Turracher which combine 80 km of skiing in the winter and walking and mountain biking in the summer. There are activities which you can do right on your doorstep including several walks and cycle rides starting from Stadl by the River Mur.

Stadl is within the Murtal Region, which can boast of having produced some of the greatest down hill skiers ever, Klammer, Walchofer and Gorschl to name but three. Stadl sits in the middle of 500 km of skiing from a 10-40 minute drive away. It truly is the perfect location for snow sport lovers. The Region not only offers excellent ski and boarding in family friendly ski areas with state of the art lifts, it also has tobogganing, horse drawn sleigh rides, ice skating and curling. Stadl on der Mur is a beautiful summer resort. The area has so much to offer, from having coffee and cake by a lake in one of the areas many cafes, having a gentle stroll or cycling along the River Mur to hiking in the mountains, mountainbiking or white water rafting. The summer also has plenty for the children. They can enjoy Kreischberg’s dinosaur forest for an adventure, a toboggan run at Turracher Hohe, a steam train ride or Horse riding. Just a 10 minute drive to this lovely ski area, here you will find ski/board schools, ski/boot hire and lockers. On the slopes there is a plenty to do for the kids including tubing, Dinopark, trampolines, magic carpets and Fred & Barney Yabba Dabba Do Land. For the big kids there is the speed run, huge half pipe Snow Board World Championship Arena. A new six seater chair lift ”The Panorama Lift” is now up and running with a new superwide panorama run which drops a breathtaking 600 meters over 3 km.

Rental notes: CLEANING COSTS - A fee of 65 GBP will be added to all bookings to cover the cost of cleaning the chalet after your departure. SECURITY BOND of 150 GBP is payable with the final balance payment. This amount will be repaid to you by cheque, within 30 days of your departure, providing the local management have reported no damage or breakages. EXTRA GUESTS - All the above rates are based on groups to a maximum of 4. A fee of 15 GBP for each additional person over 4 people will be added to the booking. ALSO PAYABLE is a tourist tax of 1 euro per adult (person over 16 years) per night. However by paying this you are entitled to sign the guest book in the chalet which gives a 10% discount off many local attractions e.g. lift passes and swimming pools, museums etc which would more than cover this.

Living area with two sofas (one of which converts in to a very comfortable double sofa bed) and satellite TV and DVD player. Dining area with dining table and chairs. Fully fitted kitchen area with oven, hob, electric toaster, kettle, dishwasher, fridge freezer, coffee maker and every utensil you will need. Cloakroom at the entrance for storage and also for outdoor shoes/ski boots. First Floor - one Double bedroom and one Twin Bedroom both with storage space. Bathroom with shower over bath and wc. This room also has underfloor heating for added comfort. Conservatory with fantastic unobstructed views through the panoramic glass and underfloor heating for extra comfort.

Outside Area:Decked areas to both front and back to so you can make the most of the sunshine (or the snow!) whatever time of day. Have breakfast in the conservatory watching the sun rise over the mountain or enjoy a glass of wine in the evening on the front decking whilst watching a beautiful sun set. Patio furniture is provided.
