Our brand new apartment in River Lodge offers the facility to sleep up to 6 people with a large double room with 2 double beds, a slightly smaller double room with 2 single beds and a large sofa bed in the living/dining area. There is cable TV and DVD player for those quiet nights in. The development offers an optional daily cleaning and fire lighting service for your return from the piste. Each apartment has its own ski and snowboard locker outside for safe keeping of your equipment. The apartment is just a 2 minute walk to the newly opened supermarket. The picturesque town centre of Bansko has kept alive it’s centuries old traditions and culture, whilst providing 360 Mehana’s (restaurants), and many snackbars, cafes, discos and casinos. Whatever your tipple or interest, Bansko is a fabulous place with clean air and good living to spend a summer or winter holiday.

Winter in Bansko Surrounded by Pirin, Rila and Rhodopa mountains, Bansko is a climatic mountain resort with a warm summer and a long winter. The average temperature in January, the coldest month, is –1.9°C. Snow falls are abundant, providing a constant winter snow cover of up to 2 metres thick. The ski season along the Pirin slopes starts in early December and ends in May. There are a number of minibuses that run every 10 minutes, within a 1 minute walk from the lodge itself; these take you the very short drive to the bottom of the new gondola station. Bansko has just undertaken a £30m investment project that has provided a range of new lifts including the state of the art 8 person gondola. This links you to all the perfectly maintained ski pistes with total length of 65km. Skiing & snowboarding Information Bansko offers conditions for ski sports which are comparable not only to the leading Bulgarian Ski resorts but also to the European ski resorts at half the price!

Outside Area:Summer in Bansko Bansko has a lot to offer the summer traveller. It is the perfect place to get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. Apart from the more traditional entertainments and sleeping late, there are quite a few things to occupy your time. Picnic sites are plentiful in the Pirin Mountains and the locals have constructed hearths where you can cook up a feast. For a lighter meal you could take a hike in the woods and feast on the abundant berries which ripen in late July and August. You can spend a day and climb the highest peak of the Pirin Mountain, Vitren (2,914 metres). From Bansko you drive to the Vitren hut, which is at the foot of the peak, leave your car there and climb to the peak. Après Ski Once you’re off the slopes there’s plenty of Après fun to be had, whether you fancy a relaxed evening at one of the many taverns or a wild night out there’s something for everyone! The new Gondola station boasts both a restaurant, bar and disco……not far too go for those who just can’t wait!
