Nieudegat Gites, Simeyrols - In The Other South of France! Nieudegat Gites comprise six one bed gites. Set in grounds of over 3 acres of peaceful countryside with 12 m x 6 m swimming pool, depth 1m at each end graduating to 2 metres in centre. Ideal for couples or individuals. (Each gite can sleep upto 4 people). Option of having breakfast provided in addition to full self-catering facilities within your own gite (B & B) and evening meals can be provided for cyclists and walkers (15 euros per person) - Chambre d'hotes). We can also arrange transport to a local restaurant if you wish to eat out but have done enough walking or cycling for the day! We have two large size travel cots and bedding available suitable for babies and small children (no extra charge). Secure and dry large sous-sol (garage area below gites) ideal for storing bikes, canoes, golf equipment and motorbikes. 'Nieudegat Gites' are situated in the peaceful bourg of Simeyrols, 3 km from the pretty village of Carlux where you can obtain essential supplies of freshly baked bread, cakes from the bakery, groceries from the general store, meat from the butchers, visit the cafe/bar and two restaurants and take in some local sight-seeing around the village. There is an ancient washing pond, church and part of the old castle wall. The Dordogne River is just 6 km south at St Julien de Lampon for canoeing and sunbathing and restaurants. The nearest main town of Sarlat (Sarlat-la-Caneda) is 13 km to the west, with its bustling enormous Saturday Market, supermarkets, shops, restaurants, bars, art galleries, church and cinema and late night disco, set in narrow medieval streets with restored Gothic and Renaissance town houses.

'Nieudegat (local dialect for 'Bird's Nest) Gites' comprises six self-contained gites built in the traditional Perigordian style with its own swimming pool, set slightly elevated to enjoy views overlooking over 3 acres of private wooded grounds and distant views towards Sarlat and Domme. Each of our six one bed gites is ideal for two people and can sleep a maximum of 4 people if required. Larger groups (max. 24) can be accommodated by booking gites en-bloc, ideal for family gatherings, groups on bikes and motorbikes, walkers or clubs. All Gites have recently been completely re-fitted with new furnishings, beds and equipment. The gites have french windows opening from the living room onto a paved patio area overlooking the surrounding countryside where you can relax with a glass of wine and enjoy the peace and solitude. Each is fully equipped for your use and has a mini-cuisine with double electric hob, sink, fridge, microwave and cupboards. A constant supply of hot water is available. On the ground floor there is a spacious shower-room (one has a full-size bath) with hand basin in vanitory unit, separate w.c. and a built-in wardrobe. Linen and towels (excluding towels for swimming/sunbathing although these can be hired at 5 euros per person per week, and barbecues are all provided. Open tread staircase from the living room lead to the first floor bedroom (all fully carpeted) with velux window. A choice of twin, double or super king size beds is available. All gites have a double bed settee in the living room so that 3 to 4 people can be accommodated if required.

Outside Area:An extending patio dining table is used inside the gites and may be taken outside onto the patio and patio chairs are provided for you to enjoy your dinner alfresco while you watch the sun as it sets behind the trees and watch/listen to the many different bird species. If you are very quiet you may be lucky enough to see deer passing through our grounds early in the monring! Dining chairs of metal and solid wood are provided for inside the gites.
