Holiday Gites between Aveyron and Lot - Cajarc holiday rental homes

In the beautiful departement of Aveyron (near the river Lot) three fully renovated and refurbished stonewall lodges with a private unique swimming pond .  The lodges are located at 500 metres from the river Lot in the domain of Mas de Galy (2800 m2). Each lodge is furnished and equipped with a fitted kitchen (with utensils), furnished bedrooms & bathroom, hi-fi system (Radio, CDs, & Tapes), & terrace/balcony furniture. The domain of Mas de Galy is situated near the edge of the village Saujac in the natural and cultural-historical surrounding of "Saut de la Mounine". The lodges at Mas de Galy share a unique ecological swimming pond (5m x 9m) with a sun terrace. Each private terrace or balcony offers a view on the private swimming pond or the castle of Montbrun against the northern cliffs of the gorges of the river Lot. At 5 kilometres from Saujac is the ancient town of Cajarc offering shops (supermarket, mini-market, local market), restaurants with terraces, museum, and a tourist information. Mas de Galy offers its guests a lot of peace and tranquility in a beautifull natural historically protected environment (Saut de la Mounine), authentic stonewall houses (from 1885), a private swimming pond, private parking, a playground, garden furniture, barbecues etc. The three gites also offer a wonderfull accommodation to a group of 2 or 3 families allied with each other (up to 14 people). Pets are not allowed on the domain. The domain "Mas de Galy" (2800m2) lies on a terraced slope, 500 m outside the village of Saujac and about 500 m from the south bank of the river Lot in the department of Aveyron, on the border of the department Lot. The estate is located in the natural and cultural protected area of Saut de la Mounine. The three stonebuilt gites ruraux of "Mas de Galy" (anno 1885) are now fully restored. The three gites are situated in an L-shape (see map), each cottage has a private terrace with a view at the rocks on the other side of the river Lot with the little castle of Montbrun located against the rock wall.  Saujac is a 12th century farmers village at 600 km south of Paris (see roadmap). An authentic small village with stone houses built in the architectural typical style of the Quercy region. In addition to the delicious private swimming pond on the estate of Mas de Galy itself, there is also the river Lot within walking distance. People can enjoy the little grass and stone "beaches" and the flowing water overthere. Small children can enjoy "tampering" in the shallow water at the banks or in the "little pools" nearby the barrages. Genuine swimming is possible in the deep middle of the broad river flowing quietly.  Mas de Galy is a good starting point for walks (documented routes) and cycling tours through the countryside in the surrounding area. At 5 km downstream lays the 12th century city of Cajarc with a nice authentic center .

GITE 1 (up to 6 people) with Pigeonnier This spacious independant gite contains two floors and has a pigeonnier (dovecote) and lucarnes (skylights). The cottage offers a great balcony/terrace on the south-west. The ground floor (approx. 12m x 5m) is decorated with an open kitchen with a dining table, a cozy stove corner, an open sitting/bedroom (2 p. sofabed) and a bathroom (toilet, sink and shower). A sealed wooden staircase leads to the big bedroom under the old oak beams of the attic with a lovely pigeonnier and two lucarnes. Under the old beams are four 1 person beds. The cave under this gite can be used by all guests of Mas de Galy. In addition to the full equipment of the three separate gites, an extra refrigerator, a freezer, a washing machine, barbecues, additional terrace seats etc. are available for sharing. The balcony and the pigeonnier of this gite offers a magnificent view at the private swimming pond and the castle of Montbrun, against the rock wall on the other side of the river Lot.

Outside Area:GITE 2 (up to 6 people) with three levels. This very broad gite over three levels contains a ground floor, with a entrance "entre sol". On this ground floor a dining/kitchen room (oak, dish wasser, refrigerator, oven) with a diningtable and a bathroom (sink, toilet and shower) is to be found. Right from the entrance entre-sol a large shady terrace under the nut tree is situated. An open wooden staircase leads to the livingfloor with a second entrance "rez chaussée", a souillarde, a large wood stove corner. The sofa bed provides lodging for 2 people. A second open wooden staircase leads to the bedroom attic under the old oak beams with a lucarne (skylight), offering four 1 person beds.
