Périgord holiday gite rental - French self catering Aquitaine gite

La Ferme de l'Embellie is set in 1.7 ha in the Périgord region, equidistant between Bergerac and Sarlat. Holiday lettings and bed and breakfast are available in the gite and four chambres d’hôtes throughout the year. The property is set back in a small, quiet hamlet, 5km from the River Dordgone and ideally situated for exploring the numerous attractions in the area. The gardens and swimming pool enjoy wonderful panoramic views of the Perigourdian countryside.

There are many restaurants in the villages and towns nearby, notably in Cadouin and Lalinde. Cadouin is a beautifully restored village which became famous for having what was once thought to be the Shroud of Christ. In the high season, there are many night markets where you can enjoy the regional produce and eat and drink with the locals in the village squares. Most of the villages also have weekly morning markets selling a wide variety of locally produced food and wines. Sarlat, a stunning town with ancient winding streets and an abundance of restaurants, is a 30 minute drive away, and a "must see" for all visitors. The area has numerous caves and châteaux to explore, notably Lascaux, Les Eyzies, Domme, Château de Milandes and Castelnaud. The gite is an independant cottage with a small decking area. It has been recently refurbished to a high standard, and comprises: brand new fitted kitchen, sitting room with sky TV/DVD player, shower room and WC, Bedroom with double bed and washbasin, Bedroom with twin beds. The four chambres d'hôtes all have bedding of a high standard, en suite bathrooms and toilets. Each room has an independant entrance opening onto a typically Périgourdin landscape of gentle forms and colours. Breakfast is included in the room rates, and can be enjoyed in the spacious dining room, or out on the terrace by the swimming pool. The rooms are quiet and comfortable - the guarantee of a good night’s sleep. There is also electric heating in all rooms.

Outside Area:A barbecue and garden furniture mean that full advantage can be taken of the garden. The cottage also has a wood burner and heaters and is ideal for winter / long lets.
