A 30 minutes walk, passing a ravine, olive- and figtrees, capers and Pajaras – the little stonehouses, characteristic for this region. Situated 60 km in the south of Lecce at the adriatic seaside Gagliano is an authentic and sympathic little town with a good infrastructure and open-air market on saturdays. Opposite Greece. Like all the other historical places of the Salento (province of Lecce) also Gagliano is built of warm tuff, a material which creates a special flair. Fascinating is also the Barocco Leccese, a local baroque stile which culminates in the facades of the churches of Lecce.
