Cottage overlooks Lough Derg and is 5 min.walk to small harbour on lake from where one can see Holy Island.Located 1 mile from Mountshannon village. The following holistic massage treatments are available by I.T.E.C qualified therapist and member of I.M.T.A [Irish massge Therapy association] Swedish, Aromatherapy, Indian Head, Lomi Lomi Hawaiian, Indian head and Shirodhara. Holy Island can be visited by boat from village harbour. Nearby village of Scariff [4 miles] has bank, pharmacy and supermarkets. Killaloe is approx 14 miles, located on Lough Derg. Portumna is located 18 miles to the north also on Lough Derg is a small town with castle and forest park as well as golf course, East Clare golf club is approx 8 miles. Bunratty casle and folk Park is 30 miles. Craggaunoween Iron age site is approx 18 miles.Ennis town is 23 miles to the west. The Cliffs of Moher is 54 miles and the Burren area of north Clare is a little further on. The Aran islands can be reached by boat from Doolin which is approx 56 miles. Galway city is 48 miles.Birdhill train station is 17 miles to the south, trains to Dublin from here daily bus connection from Limerick to nearby Scariff. Bus connection to Ennis from Scariff also. Cottage is located in rural area approx 1 mile from Mountshannon village in East Clare in the Mid West of Ireland. Located 32 miles east of Shannon International airport. NEW FOR 2 2012 proposed sea plane connection between Dublin and Mountshannon with www.harbourflights.com . The historical Holy Island is located nearby. There is a small harbour four min walk from cottage from where one can see this island. It can be reached by boat from harbour in Mountshannon village. The island also know as Iniscealtra contains a round tower and ancient monastic churches. The East Clare Way is a walking route that passes through the area. Bunratty Castle and Folk Park is approx 30 miles. Craggaunoween Iron Age visitor site is approx 17 miles. The University of Limerick water activity centre is located at two mile gate which is approx 12 miles. Ennis town is 23 miles to the west. Limerick city where one can visit St.John's Castle is 25 miles. The Rock of cashel is 65 miles. The Cliffs of Moher is 54 miles and the Burren area of North clare is a little further on. One can also visit the Aran islands from Doolin which is approx 55 miles. Portumna Forest Park and castle in Co Galway is 18 miles away. Galway city is 48 miles to the north west. Power shower in bathroom/ no bath. Elecrtic cooker with gas hob.

Outside Area:Cottage is co-located on owners grounds. It has green area to the front as well as patio area.Located off main road and one can walk to nearby harbour 4 mins,There are large lawns on the approach driveway to cottage as well as many trees.
