Summary of this Mauritius self catering bungalows in Mauritius.
Have your ever thought of going on holiday to Mauritius, but felt that it seemed much too expensive? Who hasn't! But you should know that one does not have to live in the large, expensive luxury hotels (which really are fantastic), but that it is indeed possible to live at a reasonable price in Mauritius - in a self-catering holiday villa
I am Swedish and my name is Janina Moutou. I have been married for many years to a Mauritian and we now live in Mauritius. Some years ago, we built a house in my husband's native village, Grand Gaube - a fishing village on the popular north eastern coast of the island.
It was actually our architect who suggested that there was enough space to build another two, smaller houses, which one could then perhaps rent to tourists. And that is exactly what we are doing.
Since we started, we have welcomed many guests - mainly Scandinavian, French and German - and they have felt very happy and comfortable and really enjoyed being off the beaten tourist track in such a village as this.
Views:Lovely view over the fishing harbour and northern islands.
Floor Area:approx 95m²

Location of this Mauritius beachfront holiday bungalows.
There are many things to do in Mauritius, including underwater walks, trips on old schooners, hiking in the mountains, visiting the sugar museum, taking the tea route etc...
Ile aux Cerfs is the perfect island retreat and paradise on earth. The day is spent relaxing on the white sandy beaches, swimming in crystal clear water or practising your favourite water sports. There are restaurants for a quick snack or if you prefer fine a la carte dining for the gourmet. Excursion includes boat transfer and excludes lunch and drinks.
Grand Gaube itself is a quiet fishing village, but Grand Bay - Mauritius' own St. Tropez - is about ten miles or a fifteen minute drive away. There are numerous restaurants, shops and hotels in Grand Bay for a nice evening out.

Accommodation for Mauritius self catering bungalows in Mauritius.
We have two bungalows (that is what they are called here in Mauritius, even though they are built on two floors) of the self-catering type, that is we do not provide any meals. However, there is maid who comes six mornings a week (she can come on Sundays, too, if so required) to do the cleaning, washing up, bed making etc… and she can cook a (very nice, Creole) meal on request. She charges a small fee for doing this, something like 3 euros, or so.
The houses are bright, spacious and pleasant. They consist of a fairly large living room and kitchen on the ground floor and two bedrooms, a bathroom.
All the bedrooms have air conditioning for the four hottest months of the year when it is needed - December to April - and there is a TV and a telephone for local calls and for receiving international calls. Each house can thus accommodate four persons, possibly a fifth for there is a divan in the living room with a very comfortable mattress.
A maid comes six mornings a week to do the housework. She can also cook (a nice, Creole, meal) on request, but for this service she charges a small fee, something in the region of 3 euros or so.
Outside Area:The villas are set in a nice tropical garden and there is a small pavilion by the sea, a favourite spot for breakfast in the morning and a nice relaxing drink in the afternoon.
We are located in the centre of the village, mid-way between the school and church and a stone's thrown from a couple of grocery stores, where one can find everything needed for daily use. For q wider choice, there is a large supermarket in Grand Bay; some ten miles away.
