Corfu holiday villa with pool - Charming home on Corfu, Greek Islands

Our two villas, Mantis and Irene, are located in Corfu's south west region, the least developed quarter of the island. Boasting 7kms of award winning sandy beaches and crystal waters, our village of St George is sleepy, relaxed and friendly. Enjoyed particularly by families and groups of friends looking to kick back, our villas are roomy and designed to encourage reading in the garden, taking lunch on one of the terraces, topping up a tan on the roof terrace, cooling down in the pool - or having an refreshing hydro massage with the integral cascades and pressure jets! - or taking a sleepy siesta in the hammock or in one of the airy bedrooms... Each villa has three bedrooms (sleeping 6) and a huge living and dining space, well equipped kitchens and plenty of outdoor seating on the verandas and terraces. The Mantis has two bathrooms, the Irene one. The surrounding gardens are organically managed are bloom year round with tropical species and bright Mediterranean flora. The villas are all fitted with fans and have fly screens and offer comfortable and stylish accommodation in a village setting, with the sea no more than a few yards from the door.

Corfu's South Western Coast is the least developed area of the island and yet the coastline boasts the finest, longest sandy beaches. Predominantly still the quarter of the island that supports agriculture, vineyards and olive groves, much of the surrounding countryside is unspoiled and from a time gone by. The local villages are truly charming and unspoiled and our own parent village of Argyrades dates back to the 13th century. A delightful location to explore on foot, under the groves, or by bike, holidays in St George do not necessarily require the use of a car. Tavernas and mini markets are all within easy walking distance and the sea and sand are steps away. For those travelers seeking a true taste of Greek life and a slower pace, the south west may lack some of the sophistication of the other more famous resorts but its simplicity and relaxed atmosphere welcomes guests year after year.

The Villa Irene is decorated in muted soft traditional Ionian colours and furnished with family antiques and numerous paintings, all of which are by friends and family. The two double bedrooms and the living and dining area have French windows leading onto terraces and there is table seating for up to eight both inside the villa and on the outdoor terrace. There's a large farmhouse style kitchen with solid marble worktops and the villa is tiled throughout in cool terracotta tiles. The large family bathroom has a tub and shower, WC, sink and bidet. There's a double bedroom, a twin room and and single, with a divan in the living room for 6th guest. The Villa Mantis has a high vaulted ceiling in the main room and is filled with bright Greek light. More contemporary in style, the walls are adored with modern works of art, sea worn marine pieces and Greek blue artifacts. Double glazed throughout, the Mantis retains a constant cool ambiance and is tiled with Italian dove grey ceramic flooring. The two twin bedrooms are down stairs, decorated with crisp cotton drapes and linens and have their own bathroom. The master suite upstairs is romantically furnished with a traditional brass bed, mosquito net canopy, has a full size cot & its own bathroom. There's a small library area with 100s of books you're welcome to read and the villa has a long wrap around stone terrace with built in barbecue area and table outdoors, seating up to eight. All bedrooms have ample built in wardrobe space and extra pillows and duvets if required. You'll find both kitchens are fully equipped and there are anti-mosquito plug-in devices in all rooms as well as fans. Each villa has a hair dryer, iron and first aid kit.

Outside Area:We are proud to have managed our garden organically for some years and you will find that, although not as neatly clipped and perfect as some, our gardens are filled with old fashioned climbing roses, rambling vines - supplying kilos of grapes for our guests - highly fragrant stephanotis, fruit bearing trees, sunflowers, herbs, tropical caana lilies in bright acid colours, agapanthus, aliums, irises and creamy calla lilies. It is not unusual for a visiting wild tortoise to visit in the evenings and our plants often provide a home to lime green tree frogs. Our pools have been designed to fit in sympathetically with their surroundings and are 3.25 x 2.20m and approximately 85cms deep. Apart from providing a cooling plunge pool - with integral seat on one pool side (very safe for playing with little children), the pools have an optional, timed hydro massage feature, with pressure jets providing an invigorating and stimulating massage feature. With hygienic tiled walls, the pools are surrounded with wooden decking. For those parties with smaller children, we're happy to provide a bag of toys and outdoor games, such as soft bat and balls, snorkels, flippers, buckets and spades. Just let us know in advance.
