Carpineto Sinello, 20 km faraway from the Gulf of Vasto and 15 km from Casalbordino beach it is a pleasant little country of the “Medio Vastese” dominated by the Ducale Castle, actually in restructure. In the clear days from Monte Sorbo you can see the Tremiti Islands and Monte Pallano, on the background the Maiella mountain. Carpineto Sinello is a small town known because of its beautiful portal of S.Michele Arcangelo Church and the typical ducale castle. The first news referring to this nice centre is in the “Catalogus Baronum”, a document of the XII century. There are marks of ancient presence in both of valley’s sides in which the Sinello river flows. The human presence in Carpineto territory is attested since the VI century b.c by some objects found in “Policorvo” district in the 1950s: feminine ornaments, amphoras and tumbs.
