The town of Hambye is 5kms from La Maison Loufran, with two boulangeries, a butchers, chemist and two hairdressers. Tuesday and Friday sees market day… definitely more hustle and bustle with stalls abundant with fresh fruit and veg , clothes, shoes and a fishmonger,. Nearby is Hambye Abbey founded in the 12th centaury by an order of Benedictine monks, the abbey is set in a peaceful valley surrounded by hills and woodland. Today the majestic ruins of the abbey church and the monastic buildings have been patiently restored to give visitors an insight into medieval monastic life. Throughout the summer, exhibitions and various workshops take place, as well as programmed concerts of medieval and sacred music in the evenings. Coutances lays 20klms North West of Loufran, dominating the town with its stone towers and spiers, is Notre-Dame Cathedral rebuilt in the 13th centaury the building is famous for its extreme elegance.

Rental notes: 1. To reserve the property, the client should complete the booking form and return it together with a 25% deposit. We being the owners on receipt of the booking form and deposit will send a confirmation statement, which will be a formal acceptance of the booking. Bookings are from Saturday to Saturday unless, prior arrangements have been made. Dicount off second week booked 2. The balance must be paid no less than eight weeks before the first day of arrival.

The living area with tiled floor, large rug, comfy sofa and arm chair table and chairs T.V. DVD player, midi Cd radio cassette player, with wood burning stove The kitchen area with fridge, washing machine, micro-wave gas cooker with oven four rings and an electric grill, crockery, glassware cutlery, pots , pans, iron, clothes airer with ironing board and an iron . Kitchen roll and tea towels are supplied on a weekly basis inclusive of the rental. With three bedrooms, two with double beds a third room with bunk beds. The double bed rooms have a wardrobe chest of drawers bedside table with lamps and a radio, all have bedside rugs. A selection of books in each room ,board games pack of playing cards and dominoes in the childrens room. The bathroom has a shower cubicle, wash basin and toilet with mats , Bed linen toilet rolls hand and bath towels supplied on a weekly basis inclusive of the rental

Outside Area:Le Jardin Cottage has its own garden area, equipped with garden table, chairs, sun loungers and umbrella. There is an indoor games room games room with table football table tennis darts and darts board. Tuesday the guest are invited to a BBQ combined with a game of rounders (not compulsory) this can be competeitive but fun and has proved very successful
