Farmhouse rental between Pisa and Lucca - Tuscan holiday cottage

Le Grotte is a beautiful country house between Pisa and Lucca in the surrounding hills of Pisa. This area holds a stunning landscape, with vineyards, olive trees, maritime pines and lots more. The house is in direct contact with the diverse wildlife. The house is an ancient country cottage, built into the rocks, a fifteen-minute walk from the nearest village, Montemagno. This part of Tuscany is particularly known for it’s vibrant colours, it’s impressive historical monuments and it’s great countryside.

Montemagno is at twenty kilometres from Pisa and it’s leaning tower. From Pisa, you can then take the train and go to Florence, which is an hour away, Siena, two hours away, or you can visit Lucca, thirty minutes away by car. Once on the coast, you will discover beautiful beaches, both sand or pebble, in which you can bathe from May to the end of September. The surroundings offer brilliant outside activities such as walking, either in the hills or in the plane, horse riding, swimming, and mountainside climbing.

The house is composed of two floors, offering six spacious rooms. A large entrance will lead you either into an open, well-lighted kitchen, or into a cosy sitting room, which can also be a children’s room, thanks to the convertible sofa. The toilet is on the ground floors. Upstairs, you will find a colourful sitting room, with a splendid painted pavement. On your right you will be lead to a large and comfortable double room, and a lovely bathroom, with walls covered in Mediterranean styled hand-made tiles. On your left, you will enter the gorgeous and sunny master bedroom. During you stay in this house, you will find a certain atmosphere is given by the original and authentic decoration, this all starting off, of course, by the rocks on witch the house was built, witch are used sometimes as walls.

Outside Area:The property includes a terraced olive grove, making a great open space for guests. Around the house grows a nice cottage garden with herbaceous borders and wonderful roses that fill the spring air with their perfume. Outside the main door on the wide terracotta paved terrace, is a BBQ and a build oven that was used for cooking bred and is still working and available for the guests. It is lovely to spend sunny spring afternoon and summer evenings laying on the comfy lounge chairs enjoying the splendid view reaching out to the Mediterranean Sea.
