Edakkad River House is in a very beautiful location at the mouth of a river as it joins with the Arabian Sea. The house is set on a small peninsular and the nearest road is a few minutes walk through coconut groves, passing village houses along the way. Edakkad River House sleeps up to six guests. The ground floor has one double en-suite bedroom and one room containing a single bed and a bunk bed with separate shower room etc. The upper level contains a sitting room which opens out to a roof terrace. Further sleeping arrangements can be made in the sitting room if required. There is a dining room and a kitchen. The roof terrace has magificent views over the Drive-in Beach and over the river as it joins with the Arabian Sea. Explore the area by walking. To visit restaurants and for shopping and tours, a car with driver is available.

Edakkad River House offers simplicity with comfort while outside village life goes on. Fishermen go down to the sea each day, coconuts are harvested and ladies beat their washing on the rocks. Its like going back in time! Edakkad is a fishing community. The men paddle out to sea in long canoe type boats. Sometimes they are gone well into the night. There are other very colourful lager craft with out-board motors. It is very interesting to see the boats go out and come back in. The near-by Drive-in Beach is a four kilometre beautiful beach where it is possible to drive the whole length, skimming the waves. The Little Beach is a very pretty beach and a nice place to relax and read but the fishermen say the current can be strong here so not really suitable for the average swimmer. The beach that borders the peninsular round into the river has interesting rock pools. When the tide is out it is possible to walk through the river to the Drive-in Beach where there is a cafe.
