Welcome to Le Bourdassou! We are in the south of France, a few kilometres north of the border with Spain, near the town of St Girons and about 80km due south of Toulouse. The gite is 750m up in the foothills, facing due south with stunning views of the main range of the Pyrenees. There are masses of things to do in the area. The gîte is set in 4000m2 of terraced garden and natural woodland in a stunning location looking due south over the Salat valley and facing the main range of the Pyrenees. The house has been built in the traditional style and the gîte occupies the first floor. Access via wide balcony, suitable for disabled. It offers comfortable accommodation with generous sized rooms all with views of the mountains or the woodlands. The lounge leads directly onto the balcony where a table is provided for outdoor dining. The swimming pool is located at the east side of the house. Le Bourdassou is within 100m of the Tour de Vallee du Garbet walking route. There are numerous excellent hikes in the area such as the Chemin de la Liberte from the Col de la Cor, the well-known walk to the Ars waterfall, and many mountain lakes such as the etangs of Garbet, Bleu, Aube and Guzet..It is possible to hire the services of a British International Mountain Leader for all or part of your stay at a very special day rate of 100€, for any group size up to ten. The ski station Guzet-Neige is about 25 minutes drive away. There are horse-riding and donkey trekking establishments close by. We can organise kayak hire and guided trips on the river Salat.

Outside Area:Set in 4000m² of grounds of which about a third is garden and two thirds woodland. Two balconies, on the south side overlooking the garden and the mountains, on the west side looking onto the fruit trees and forest. The pool is on the east side, very secluded from the access road, and surrounded by a non-slip "plage" and with an automatic alarm. Guests are welcome to wander in the garden. Secluded sunbathing area on lower terrace. Access to the property is round the north side and along the west balcony. Wheelchair access is possible but not ideal, please call. The gite itself is all on one level internally.
