A Mediterranean-style villa set in the Mayan Riviera and designed by acclaimed architect Ismael Diaz, Casa Perla is perfect for a romantic getaway or an intimate place to gather with family and friends. It is a unique and spacious home nestled between the blue Caribbean and the luscious Mayan jungle. 4 bedrooms – each with private baths and two powder rooms all of the bath rooms have beautiful custom stone counters and sinks. House can be rented as a Four bedroom, sleeping 10 or, as two bedroom – 3 of the bedrooms feature king beds with pillow top Sealy Restonic mattresses. The 4th bedroom can sleep 4 with a double bed, and 2 singles. This can be a great kids’ room. Our amazing staff is there to help you with everything – including cooking dinner (cost of food is not included). The house is designed to be used as a wonderful family retreat, either on your own or, with extended family and friends. As a working mom I love the fact that I am in the privacy of an incredible home, but with help for cleaning and cooking!! A romantic getaway, or just truly a lovely place, to relax and enjoy.

Casa Perla is strategically located between Tulum and Akumal – just 10 minutes from the ancient ruins and town of Tulum, and 15 minutes from the world famous eco park Xel-Ha. The hip and happening Playa del Carmen is a 35 minute drive and the amazing ruins of COBA are 40 minutes and don’t miss Punta Laguna, or Laguna Bakalar, near Chetumal. Finally the awe inspiring, Chichen Itza, one of the 8 wonders of the world, is an easy 3 hour drive. Spectacular views of the Caribbean Sea – and the incredible Mayan Jungle with over 150 species of birds, and 1000 species of flora and fauna – 3 species of turtles come ashore and lay their eggs right in front of the house on the beach! The manatee Cenote is a must and is just minutes from Casa Perla. Two small great restaurants are located within 10 minutes of the house, Blue Sky and Casa Cenote – Casa Cenote pours a mean margarita, and is literally on the water’s edge. There are numerous great restaurants in Tulum, Akumal and Playa del Carmen. Playa del Carmen is coastal city, located approximately 26 miles north of Tankah Bay. Playa offers hundreds of casual restaurants, shops, bars, several gas stations, banks and just about everything else you would find in a small city. Playa Del Carmen also offers a variety of bars and clubs for a night on the town. The bus station and taxis are at the town square (plaza). The two large grocery stores in Playa Del Carmen are Super San Francisco and Super Chedraui.

Casa Perla reflects the rich color, texture and artistry of the Yucatan. It features unique hand stenciling throughout the home as is traditional in the beautiful haciendas of the region. All of the doors, cabinets and furniture are locally handmade with the finest craftsmanship. Three of the 4 bedrooms have king-size beds and the 4th has 1 double bed and 2 singles - perfect for children. Each has a picture postcard view of the sea or jungle, top-of-the-line Sealy Pillow Top mattresses, custom handmade draperies with blackout lining, and air conditioning for a restful sleep on imported 600 thread-count sheets. Every bedroom has a private bathroom with sinks and countertops cut from local stones and exquisite fossilized shells. Each is appointed with the highest quality 100% Turkish cotton towels. Casa Perla boasts two well-appointed kitchens with gorgeous Mexican granite countertops. You will arrive to find each fully stocked and include a coffee maker, blender and microwave. The downstairs kitchen is poolside so you are just steps from an ice-cold Mexican beer or chips and freshly made guacamole. Both kitchens have a view of the jungle and the stunning Mayan sunset. It’s not unusual to see an amazing array of colorful birds. Our binoculars and books will help you to identify them though it will be easy to spot our gorgeous pink flamingos! The dining rooms seat 8 comfortably upstairs and 6 comfortably downstairs. The two large family rooms open onto an outdoor veranda and each features a 42” flat screen TV. Free WiFi is available throughout the house.

Outside Area:Casa Perla has four outdoor verandas and a rooftop deck with stunning 360-degree views. Wake up early and listen to the waves crashing on the shore as you watch the sun rise over the Caribbean. In the daytime the verandas are a perfect place to appreciate the flora and fauna of the Mayan jungle. There are literally thousands of rainbow-colored flowers and birds. And to see the sun set over the ancient Mayan jungle is breathtaking. Casa Perla is only 50 meters (165 feet) from the water’s edge. Guests enjoy great shelling along the secluded beach or spectacular snorkeling and scuba diving directly in front of the house. If you visit between mid-May and November you can experience one of nature’s most unforgettable sights – Loggerhead, Green and Hawksbill turtles come ashore to lay their eggs in May and the hatchlings dash for the sea in November. If you don’t feel like visting the beach, our dark-bottom pool is as refreshing as it is beautiful. Comfortable lounge chairs were custom-made to enjoy a great book or relax with a chilled margarita. A wall surrounding the perimeter of the house assures total privacy as you bathe in the sun or enjoy a poolside bbq fiesta. Don’t worry about packing beach towels or pool toys for the kids; Casa Perla has them for you.
