Mareuil-sur-lay holiday bed and breakfast rental - Comfortable Pays de la Loire

Renovated mill house with four bedrooms accommodating up to 11. All of our bedrooms have shower, toilet and washbasin en suite. We provide our guests with breakfast, a picnic lunch, and a self catering kitchen and bar-be-ques so that you can self cater in the evening if you wish, or walk to local restaurants. We provide linen and towels, bikes, fishing gear, river boats, hot tub, table tennis and badmington equipment for the free use of our guests. Our tranquil garden is on the edge of open countryside, but only five minutes walk from the centre of the small town of Mareuil-Sur-Lay which has all amenities including supermarket, banks, pharmacies and restaurants. We are only 25 minutes drive from the golden Atlantic beaches, in a wine producing region, close to the cathedral town of Lucon. We provide two of your meals so that Mum has a break, convenience of half board with the freedom of a gite but with activites for those who would like them.

Mareuil-Sur-Lay is in a wine producing region, and you can visit the local vineyards to sample their wines. The cathedral town of Lucon with its interesting architecture is 8km away. There is a nearby golf course, tennis and horse riding.

Rental notes: The prices quoted are per adult per week which includes breakfast, a picnic lunch, full use of self catering facilities and swimming pool, bikes, fishing gear, boats and badmington equipment. Children under 16 are half the adult price. Children under 4 are free. Linen and towels are provided, payment can be made by credit card with a 2% sur-charge.

Le Moulin comprises an entrance hall with original tiled floor, and winding oak staircase. To the left is a large lounge dinnig room with comfortable leather suites and large solid table, old tiled floor, wood burning stove and large window with views over the river and tree linned island. There is free wifi, English television with dvd, a portable cd player, books and dvd's. Beyond is our guests kitchen with old stone carved fire place and wood burner, double sink and drainer, gas cooker with oven, dishwasher, washing machine, two fridges, fridge-freezer, microwave, kettle, coffee maker, iron & board, crockery, glasses, cutlery, pans etc. There is a downstairs toilet and washbasin. Taking a walk upstairs, along the left landing is a twin bedroom, which can be a triple, with built in wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside cabinets and lamps. The shower room has washbasin with mixer tap, large mirror and shaver point, toilet, free standing towel rail and shower cabinet with thermostatic tap. The next bedroom is a family room with two fitted wardrobes, chest of drawers, bedside cabinets and lamps, double bed, whicker settee and chair, bunk beds, free standing towel rail and washbasin with mixer tap, large mirror and shaver point. The shower room has tiled shower with thermostatic tap and a toilet. The right landing leads to a large bedroom with a double bed and a single bed. There is a wardrobe, chest of drawers bedside cabinet and lamps, whicker chair, free standing towel rail, large washbasin with mixer tap, large mirror and shaver point. The shower room has a tiled shower with thermostatic tap and toilet. Our fourth bedroom has a built in wardrobe, chest of drawers, bedside cabinets and lamps, iron bedstead and whicker chair.

Outside Area:Through the farm gate is the garden, which is walled along the lane side and linned with mature trees. There is a terrace next to the pool with table and chairs, sun loungers and thatched sun shelter. The pool is above ground with detachable ladder, and measures 10m by 5m, 1.2m deep. There are two hammocks and a hammock chair among the trees, and a small trampoline, table tennis table, swing and zip wire for the children (if supervised by parents) Beyond the pool is a large lawn with badminton, volley ball and football. Behind the old water mill is a balcony terrace with large barbeque and table and chairs, with hot tub below. To the left is an open fronted covered barbeque area with gas barbeque, tables and chairs. There are portable charcoal barbeques as well. Over a gated bridge is the first of two tree linned islands with a thatched summer house. At the end of the second island is a lovely view of the church and the chateau and the bridge in the centre of town.
