You can rent all four bedrooms in the main house, the one-bedroom luxury apartment, the two bedroom cabin, or one bedroom with private bath in the main house. The entire property can accommodate up to 16 people and is open year-round. The Black Bear Inn can accommodate short-term stays by guests who are departing on, or returning from other Alaskan adventures. Baggage storage and departure transportation can be provided. Fishing Charters, Women’s Adventure & Fishing Trips and Sea Kayak Fishing Charters can be arranged through the Inn between May and October. Stays can be customized to include catered meals.

The Bears Den is in the middle of the house on the first floor with easy access for those with limited mobility. The room has a memory foam queen size bed and cozy sitting area with a mirrored closet. 5 ft sliding glass doors lead to a deck overlooking the water. Rich fall colors adorn the walls. The large private bath features an oversized deep soaking tub and shower, two sinks and a makeup area. The Homestead, our largest guest bedroom, is dedicated to the host’s great grand parents, Harriet and Forest Hunt who came to Alaska in 1898. It is on the far end of the first floor and also has easy access. The room has a pillow top queen size and memory foam full size bed with room for two single air-beds, when needed. There is an award-winning fireplace built into one wall across from two 5 ft mirrored closets. 6 ft sliding glass doors lead to a deck that overlooks a private boat harbor. The room is richly appointed in muted shades of gold, mauve, and apricot, with fine linens and quality furniture. The walls feature family photos from the turn of the century and other interesting memorabilia. The large private bath has a deep, oversized soaking tub and shower, and two sinks. The Northern Frontier is on the second floor on the far end of the house. 6 ft sliding glass doors open onto a private covered balcony that is perfect for outdoor dining and watching the sunset. The room has a pillow top queen size bed, plush furnishings, an elegant wall fireplace, and is decorated in the warm floral tones of summer. The connecting private bath has a skylight over the sink, a glass walk- in shower, lots of mirrors and decorative tile. Outside Area:Eagles, Ravens and Seagulls perch in the Sixty-year-old Spruce and Cedars that border the property's park-like setting. Multilevel decking wraps around the house providing outstanding spots to sit back and watch wildlife, float planes, barges, fishing boats, world-class yachts, Alaska ferries, and cruise ships. The covered outdoor Hot Tub, fire pit and BBQ, on the waters edge, is the most romantic place to watch Ketchikan’s majestic sunsets. There is an outdoor crab cooker, fish smoker and fish cleaning area for guests to prepare their catch of the day.
