Family House in Val de Loir - Self catering Gite in Loire Valley

On a hill, in the midst of a garden full of trees, our family house overlooks a green valley and the medieval village of Lavardin, the ruins of its castle and the Romanesque church entirely decorated with frescoes. The house is covered with Virginia creeper. It is very quiet and the rooms are full of light. At bay, behind trees, the large swimming pool, with shinning sun all day, is oriented full South. Days can be leisurely spent between swimming or resting, meals, walking or cycling, and numerous cultural activities. The sitting room, with a piano and many windows dominating the entire landscape, opens up on a terrace. On hot summer evenings, it is the best place to dine, facing the sunset and the lit-up castle. The house is located in the heart of the Loire Valley, its royal castles and its vineyards. Close by are many small troglodyte villages, remarkable Romanesque churches, the house of the poet Ronsard, festivals and concerts throughout the Summer or the worldwide known “Zoo de Beauval” with its Chinese pandas. The nearby city of Montoire (3km) offers all commercial facilities. On Wednesdays and Saturdays, market days, one can find an abundance of  fresh, local and traditional products. Every day, a couple of vegetable farmers will pick up in front of you all kind of delicious salads, herbs and vegetables. The closest train station is Vendôme Villiers (15 minutes from the house) and Paris/Vendôme is a 42 minute TGV ride. The closest international airport is Tours (45 minutes).

Outside Area:The Garden: The 8 acres garden, well maintained, with trees and flowers, provides various areas for playing and resting. The Swimming Pool (19’8’’ x 45’11’’): Exposed full South swimming pool from morning to evening; Big bath and small bath. The children can play in the small bath, which can be delimited by a rope with spar buoys.
