Welcome to Mountain Retreats Andalucia, if you are looking for a relaxing holiday with no children (12+ only) in the beautiful Andalucian mountains, with just the sound of the birds and a possible distant tractor, your in the right place, Iznajar is situated around a beautiful 32 kilometre lake. Encima Del Mundo (On Top of the World), is a little mountain haven in the heart of Andalucia aimed at the more discerning clients. We moved over here in 2002 and set about making this very large cortijo into a home for ourselves and three rentals, El Granero has seen many visitors in the last 6 years and now that La Casita is ready to receive guests, we hope that many other people will join us to revel in the sheer beauty of the location.

Just 15 minutes from the village shops and bar of Fuente Del Conde, and 20 minutes drive from Iznajar and its magnificent lake, its location was carefully selected by us for its stunning views and tranquillity. The land extends to the highest peak of the mountain on which it sits. Where the olive groves finish the Spanish oak wooded area begins, the clearings offer shaded picnic areas to take in lunch or do some bird watching. Iznajar is located in the green and lush Andalucian mountains. It sits high on a peninsula, and therefore, has lake views from most aspects. Iznajar Lake offers its own beach, water sports and fishing. It stretches for 32 kilometres, with patchwork colour banks, which serve to enhance its beauty. Iznajar's narrow streets meander up to the castle at its highest point. Seek out its plaques, plotting Iznajar's long and rich history. The whole area is located on the edge of " Sierra Subbetica" National Park, a very beautiful and popular part of Andalucia.

Rental notes: Balances are due 8 weeks before arrival. Prices are per cottage per week. A further deposit of 100 GBP cash is payable on arrival. This will be returned on completion of an accommodation check prior to your departure. Any damage cost will be deducted accordingly.

La Casita offers a taste of Moorish living. It is entered via steps onto a terrace with BBQ and seating, with a door into the upstairs open plan kitchen and living area. The kitchen provides all necessary utensils to make your stay enjoyable. The downstairs bedrooms both have en suites shower, w.c, and basin, each has a double bed and the lounge has a sofa bed for separate sleeping. La Casita forms a second corner of a large family cortijo, the balcony offers 280 degree broken views, in the evening you can watch the sun go down with a glass of wine or cocktail from your terrace. El Granero is a traditional beamed Andalucian cottage forms one wing of a large cortijo and offers spacious self catering accommodation, with two en-suite bedrooms. The interior is, of course, tastefully furnished to a high standard. El Granero has a separate lounge and kitchen, with one double, and one downstairs twin bedroom.
