Le Four Saint Rabier is a beautiful stone property standing alone on the outskirts of a small hamlet in lovely rural French countryside, with breathtaking views, which can best be described as extremely tranquil. Outside there is a private pool which is overlooked from the house with seating and BBQ. The garden is full with really good smelling roses and even herbs and courgettes grow in the garden. The accommodation is light, spacious and airy with high ceilings, the cosy interior is cool in summer and comfortable outside the seasons. There is a fire log for your comfort and romantic nights in the evenings... The accommodation is available for rental all year round. It can sleep up to 4 persons in comfort, and is nicely furnished with all mod cons. The owners live just 10 minutes from the house and is happy to provide any assistance if required. The accommodation is close to Rocamadour, Saint Cirq, Sarlat, Montignac and many beautiful villages. Locally there is excellent walking and cycling and many attractions close by for children. Good local food and wine abound in the region and also close to many Michelin star restaurants. Visits to historic caves, museums and chateaux are plentiful within 45 minutes drive. The Dordogne is one of the most unspoilt, and uncrowded regions of France, a lovely place to relax and enjoy the french life. Local activities include tennis, walking, cycling, fishing, horse riding, golf, mountaineering.

Medieval towns Whatever your interests, the Dordogne or Lot area will suit you. The scenery is magical, and just driving around on the lovely country lanes through the forest and over the hills and along the rivers is pure pleasure. There are numerous "plus beaux villages de France" including Beynac, La Roque-Gageac, St-Leon-sur-Vézère, Domme, and Belvès. The town of Sarlat, the market hub of the region, has been restored to its 17th-18th-century magnificence with such perfection that it is lit at night by gas lamps and is the set for myriad French movies. Prehistoric sites There are more than 150 prehistoric sites along the Vézère river alone. The best known prehistoric site is, of course, Lascaux II, which, though a reproduction, will still give you goosebumps. Others include Font-de-Gaume and Combarelles in Les Eyzies, Rouffignac and Bara-Bahau (engravings); and numerous smaller sites with sculpture, dwellings, shelters, and other prehistoric goodies.

Rental notes: No real instructions but house is being kept in really good and clean state and owner would like people to respect the place and treat it with the same love she has for the house... price of 200 euros lastminute price for up to two persons, otherwise 25 euros extra p.p.
