Estero is a small town located along Highway 41 between Fort Myers and Bonita Springs in beautiful southwest Florida. There are many sightings along the way of osprey, hawks, eagles, great blue herons, otters and other wildlife.
A short distance from the mouth of the river is Mound Key State Park, the ancient Indian shell mound, with hiking trails and impressive views. Another interesting place to visit is the Koreshan State Historic Site, located on the banks of the Estero River.
