Podere Vigliano is a 250 year old farmhouse beautifully restored in the old style. It lies on 5 hectares in the heart of Italy on the border of Umbria and Tuscany. Ideally located midway between Rome and Florence it is easy to visit the famous hill towns of Umbria and Tuscany and return home to the countryside to relax or take a swim in the private swimming pool. The A-1 autostrada and the main train station in Chiusi are close by for easy access. Rome and Florence are about an hour's drive and you may arrive by train in a little over an hour. Etruscan tombs, hot springs, Roman ruins and the Duomo of Orvieto are just a few of the region's features. Local activities include horseback riding, swimming, hiking, mountain biking, cycling, cooking and art classes. The farmhouse sits about 250 meters above sea level and looks up to the ancient medieval hill town of Monteleone d'Orvieto. It's cypress lined entrance welcomes you to the enchanting private grounds. Take a walk among the olive groves, vineyard, fruit trees, oak forest, and manicured gardens, or just relax by the pool or in an easy chair under the pergola or sit on the terrace reading, sipping wine, and enjoying the peaceful views. We are walking distance to the walled town with several great restaurants, bars, wine bar, forno, and grocery stores. Monteleone hosts several well known festivals. Cooking classes or a cook at the farmhouse can be arranged, as well as customized tours or itineraries.

Rental notes: A non refundable deposit of 30% will confirm a reservation. The balance is due 60 days prior to arrival. The rental rate includes electricity, heating, and departure cleaning. Discount given for multiple weeks. Monthly rates. Payments are refundable in the event of cancellation only if the reserved space is rebooked. Subleasing is not permitted.

Two storied farmhouse, on the ground level fully equipped kitchen, living room with fireplace, dinning room with doors opening out onto an outside terrace with a view, library with sleeper couch and full bathroom. Second floor has a sitting room with fireplace, three bedrooms, 2 with queen beds, one with 2 twin beds which can be fitted together to make a queen bed, and 2 full bathrooms. Amenities provided include fully equipped kitchen, washing machine in garage, iron/ironing board, hair dryer, towels, bed linens, portable iPod stand, stereo & local TV/DVD player, and central heating. A telephone is available for incoming and local calls and for use only with a personal telephone card.

Outside Area:Formal manicured gardens, covered shady pergola with table and chairs for dining and relaxing, separate terrace with dinning table, fireplace for barbecuing, outdoor pizza oven. Many places to sit outside and enjoy the views. The pool is 5x15 meters with a magnificent view of the hills and Monteleone, bordered with Roman stone with a pergola to dine al fresco by the pool and poolside chairs and lounges.
