Situated in Vitrac, between Sarlat(6km) and Domme(5km) it is convenient to the A20 motorway and several airports and is ideally situated for exploring the delightful scenery and many attractions of the Dordogne valley. The Dordogne countryside is punctuated by picture-postcard villages ( like Sarlat, Domme, La Roque Gageac, St. Geniès) with golden-ochre stone houses and flower-festooned squares. The many chateaux in the area, ranging from fairytale ( like Chateau des Milandes, Chateau Losse ) to flambuoyant ( like Hautfort) to medieval fortifications ( like Beynac and Castlenaud), rival those of the Loire Valley. Where prehistory is concerned, the Dordogne and Vézère valleys are in a league of their own. Exceptional sites at Lascaux, known as the "Sistine chapel of prehistory" because of its cave paintings of bulls, horses and stags, and at Le Moustier and Les Eyzies provide evidence of human settlement here some 50,000 years ago! If you are a connaissuer of fine wines a trip to the vineyards at Bergerac and Cahors is a must. The whole area is known for the richness and quality of its food are there are many excellent restaurants.

The spacious sitting room has original features ( oak beams, stone wall-niche thought to be a medieval food-warmer) and stylish, bright furnishings. Comfortable modern couches, one of which converts to a double bed and large coffee table are arranged around a feature stone fireplace. There is a selection of DVDs and books and games for adults and children. A large glass door opens onto a West-facing covered terrace ideal for relaxing with a good book, or taking a pre-dinner apéritif. The large modern kitchen/dining room is fully fitted with generous storage and food preparation areas. The dining area has a solid beech table and black leather chairs for 8 people. A large glass door opens onto the paved dining terrace with parasol and wooden dining table and chairs for 8 people. There are 3 bedrooms, one on the ground floor and two on the first floor. The bright, spacious ground-floor bedroom has a double bed, and there is a second double room (and a twin room with two standard single beds on the first floor. All the bedrooms are very comfortably furnished and fully carpeted. The beds are made up with crisp bed linen on your arrival. There are three bath/shower rooms all fully tiled and fitted to a high standard. Towels and bath mats are supplied and there is a hairdryer for your convenience.

Outside Area:Built in golden stone typical of the region, some parts dating back to medieval times...on the outside a picture-postcard pigeonnière(dovecote), walls covered with climbing plants (including a specemin passion flower) and a steep perigordian roof bordered with original flat stone tiles (lauzes). The house is surrounded by mature gardens with fruit trees, shrubs and extensive lawned areas. It is well fenced and enclosed by hedges for additional privacy. There is secure, off-road parking for 3 cars. The pool is totally private and for your exclusive use. There is a solar-powered shower and security cover for the safety of young children. The large paved terrace has sun loungers and parasols and is adjacent to the charcoal barbeque.
