Normandy self catering cottage - French holiday rentals cottage in St Lo

Le Haut Quesnay's cottage offers an excellent base whether your holiday is going to consist of visiting the D day landing beaches and historical towns such as Bayeux, the tourist attractions of St. Lo or just to relax in your own private garden. With easy access to ferry and airports the cottage is in a ideal location for whatever type of holiday you desire. Utah beach is only 25 mins away and the next beach - Omaha, offers a wonderful golf course.

St. Lo is 6 miles south and for horses lovers it hosts one of France's 23 National Studs. You can visit the stables and courtyard from JUne to September. It also has museums, chateaus, gardens and much more. Carentan is 6 miles north, it is a small French town with shops, a market and a small harbour for yachts. D-Day landing beaches, a pivotal moment in WWII history, with museums, monuments, exhibitions and cemeteries, see the Mulberry Docks at Arromanche. Each place a true piece of history reminding us of each brave serviceman's gift to us. Le Dézert, within 15 minutes walking distance from the house, it offers a bar/restaurant, local shop and patisserie. Saint-Jean-de-Daye, a larger village with a pharmacy, bars, resaurants, hair dressers, vets and a bank. Caen, one hour away with shops and museums. Caen is known for its historical buildings built during the reign of William the Conqueror, who was buried here, and for the Battle for Caen; heavy fighting that took place in and around Caen during the Battle of Normandy in 1944. St. Malo, a walled medieval city. Beautiful winding narrow streets and port. During the middle ages St. Malo was a fortified island at the mouth of the Rance River Mont St Michelle, the island is best known as the site of the spectacular and well-preserved medieval Benedictine Abbey of St Michel at the peak of the rocky island, surrounded by the winding streets and convoluted architecture of the medieval town.

Rental notes: Christmas and New Year prices on application. Prices are based on 5 occupants, there will be a slight discount for less people. These prices include all bed linen and towels. A continental breakfast is available in the main farmhouse for an extra 8 euros per person per day. Prices include a supplementary fuel charge for the winter months.

The cottage at Le Haut Quesnay has this year been completely refurbished and the top floor converted into another bedroom. It is now a 2 bedroomed property and can sleep up to 5 people. On the ground floor there is a spacious lounge/dining room, a well appointed kitchen, a bathroom and a twin bedded bedroom which is ideal for children or people who would rather not have to climb stairs. In the lounge there is also a comfortable double sofa bed. The 1st floor has a spacious beamed bedroom with tranquil views of the countryside, and an en-suite w.c. with wash basin. The bedroom has a double bed and a single futon.

Outside Area:The cottage has its own private fenced garden and also a parking area. There are garden table and chairs and a small BBQ for the guests use.
