From the moment we first came to Vieques we realized that the island was a special place...much like most of the other islands were decades ago (safe, unspoiled and with few tourists)--we knew that we wanted a home of our own here. Villa Altamira is the result of two years of planning and construction by Altamira's first owners. They invested a lot of energy, love and effort in order to create a home that is truly special. We are pleased to share it with you. Villa Altamira is your home base from which to explore the wonders of Vieques.

Vieques is a unique, tranquil island. None of the crowds, noise or extreme shopping that have spoiled much of the Caribbean Islands. Just the perfect blend of natural beauty and solitude that are hard to come by these days. Vieques is not for everyone though. No casinos, shopping, loud music, traffic, nightclubs or high energy nightlife. This is an island for peaceful relaxation, reflection, exploring nature while you discover new beaches, walking the island's cute towns of Isabella and Esperanza. Fish the island's coast, dine at one of the many fine restaurants but most of all discover the joy of relaxing poolside or on the balcony reading or chatting with family and friends. Altamira is a short walk from La Lanchita beach, a wonderful swimming cove and snorkeling spot. This is perfect for nights when you want a quick dip in the ocean then relaxing by the pool. No need to drive. The kids love the scenic walk.

Villa Altamira is a comfortable, well maintained, fully equipped Caribbean style home perfect for families or couples. 3 Large Screened Bedrooms and 3 Bathrooms each on its own private floor. The main floor bedroom (queen size bed) is large with an en-suite complete bathroom. The top floor bedroom (also queen size) has its own shower, toilet and sink. It has French doors that open onto a balcony and roof top patio cooled by the breeze (our favorite spot to sip rum and enjoy the view). The ground floor bedroom is really a self contained apartment with its own mini-kitchen, bathroom (with tub-shower), and two single beds. The ground floor bedroom is air conditioned. The bedrooms are unusually private and make the house very suitable to be shared with your family or friends.

Outside Area:Gated, fenced and landscaped for privacy. 30 x 15 Fully Private Pool with ocean views and two outdoor showers.
